Escape Game Experience, Maumee OH

Will only accommodate groups of 8 or larger. Been in contact with them they said they would open up for only $10 more per person. Then they turn around saying it would require an 8 person minimum. Use your money elsewhere. This is a company trying to get all your money. I've done many escape facilities where they will open during the week. Not worth your time or your money. Stay away!

We did not get out but it was a great experience overall. We have done so many escape rooms before and this was among one of the best ones.

Was pretty fun, and the whole group managed to contribute to a victory in the nick of time. Respected my father being on call.

We recently came out to do the Elder Wand experience, and we decided to do it at the Challenge level. It was hard, fun, and attractive. It defeated us! But that's OK, we were looking for something harder than we usually face. And it was!

We only have one question, that confuses us even now, as we play back in our minds how our attempt went: can you explain what the Challenge difficulty means in terms of how we get clues? It was something like "you can only get help on a puzzle after you've already gotten all the pieces of a puzzle", but also, something about, if we don't have all the pieces, he'd produce the clue, but we lose it? Confusing. In hind-sight it sounds like "you don't get any clues", since, if you have all the parts of a puzzle, you probably don't need help on it, right? I feel like we wasted 10 minutes, as a group, asking for help when the result really amounted to "you can't get any help", and you've lost this time asking for it.

I think the Challenge difficulty needs to be explained a little better, is all. But, really, can you explain it a little better? Something gets produced, but you still lose the clue?

Also, just to echo earlier comments: a timer would have been really nice to have in the room, and, we also noticed a weird vibe when we asked about using the restrooms. It wasn't a big deal, it just required putting cell phones in the lockers, but the gentleman at the desk made us feel like it was a problem, even though we arrived plenty of time before our scheduled event.
(Most escape rooms have bathrooms that don't require being weird about letting people use them.)

Best escape rooms I've ever been to. I have done several of the rooms now. The owners and workers are some of the nicest people. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the escape rooms. Love the story mode and the option of a challenge mode. Great for avid escape room fans and beginners. Top down my favorite activity to do with friends. Even if you don't beat the room, it feels as if you accomplished something with each solved puzzle. Themes change regularly throughout the year. Cannot recommend enough.

Such a great experience! The owners were so friendly and the game we did was challenging! The rooms were set up great and the props were awesome. Highly recommend and perfect for date night.

Wow, that was difficult! Having choices on how to play the room was cool. We've done a lot of different ones and this was by far the most difficult.

Dishonest information and WE DO NOT RECOMMEND! ️️️️We drove 1 hour and 1/2 from michigan we adked if thete was availability and the lady told us we can just walk in, 2 min away we got a call back saying everything was booked, we went to their location to check it out and it was closed, lights off no car no nothing.

Loved going to this escape room, everything looked amazing in the rooms and I am so excited to go to all the rooms, especially the X-Files room!

Played the Harry Potter room and had tons of fun. The owner was really nice and clearly loves and cares about his job, and puts a lot of work into making the rooms challenging and atmospheric. He also told us about his ideas for future rooms, and I definitely plan on going back as soon as they're up!

After recently visiting the Escape Game Experience I can confidently say the experience was the worst I've had. It started with one of the employees arguing with us that their website is up to date when it still lists game themes they haven't offered in over a year. Then once we were signed in and waiting to start, we asked to use the restroom. They would not allow us to use the restroom until we were in the escape room and started the game. So going to the bathroom had to be done as our timer was going therefore cutting into our time to uncover clues. As far as the game goes, our game master was snarky from the start. He didn't even tell us what his name was so we couldn't call on him for help. There is a button you can push and he supposedly will appear but he didn't come in a timely manner or even at all towards the end of our time. He also didn't give us much of a backstory to the room. In my other experiences with escape rooms they tell you what your objective is. With this one, there was no clear objective and we were thrown into a very overwhelming room with nothing to go on. As the game went on he didn't give us any helpful hints or clues as to when we were getting close to uncovering a lead. Overall, my group and myself were very unsatisfied with the experience and the customer service.

We had an absolutely incredible time here and would 100% recommend it to anyone! We were a group of 4 adults, we started in the Stranger Things room and had so much fun we immediately went into Doby's room right after (so excited it happened to be open!). Both rooms were excellently made and we loved that they're all multi-room here. If you're looking for which to choose, we'd say both were definitely challenging but Doby's was harder. We used about 3 hints for both and were able to complete both (with only seconds to spare on one)! All of us had done escape rooms separately in various locations and agreed the rooms here had puzzles and locks we hadn't ever seen before which was really exciting and fun. The owner and game master we interacted with were both super friendly and passionate about the rooms and experiences they build which made it even better. We're all from out of town (about 3 hours away) and were in town for something else but all agreed we would make a weekend road trip to come do their new rooms when they come out because they are hands down the best we've been in. Can't wait to see what they come out with next!

I've been here twice and both times Dorian was our game master. He helped to make the experience great! Challenging, yet fun. Can't wait to go back again!

Did a team bonding day here with the company I work for. Great experience and we all enjoyed it.

1 Star is Way To Many. In September 2021 we purchased a Groupon for 4 people at the Escape Room in Fallen Timbers. We attempted to book the event using our Voucher only to be told that the Voucher is no longer excepted since November 2021. I explained to the owner of my purchase and it is valid till Jan 6th, 2022, which she said she would have to look it up. She called back and reported that she couldn't find my name. After giving her details all of a sudden she found it, but then refused to accept the Voucher stating she has not been paid by Groupon. The only option she would give is to credit me the amount of my purchase towards a event there and expressed that she is a reputable business woman. This is not reputable and is NOT taking care of your customers. She referred me to Groupon. Unacceptable and Poor Business Practice.

Was nice at first, then when we started we were kind of confused about a couple of things, then we accidentally “hacked the game” and skipped to the final step and he came in and reset it.

The room theme was amazing. The game was technically challenging and so much fun. I would recommend these rooms to everyone. Best escape room I have ever done.
