Eye Candy Optical, Beachwood OH

I’ve been to Sears Optical/Pearle Vision, Union Optical and WalMart Optical, but Eye Candy blows them all away. Their doctors and opticians are so much better at explaining what they are doing, what you need and why your vision has changed. The exam is far more thorough than anywhere else. Their frames and lenses are priced the same as other places, so going there is a no-brainer. They are worth the drive from anywhere.

My experience at Eye Candy Optical was exceptional. I have never heard of the name Eye Candy Optical until I stumbled upon it on Google. I was curious so went to Candy Optical to see what they had even though I had been to others Optical Stores in the past and have brought glasses from them. However, when I went to Candy Optical I knew that I was in an upscale Optical Store. I was greeted by Ariel and I told her why I was there and she showed me some amazing eye wear. Branka join Ariel to help me find the eye wear that I would be happy with. Both Ariel and Branka are phenomenal people. I tried on 6 or more pairs of glasses. I was like a kid in a candy store. Then Ariel brought me a pair of glasses that sealed the deal for me. For me glasses are like jewelry for the face. And I am happy with what I purchased. I recommend Eye Candy Optical and I'm going to tell everyone I know and everyone I don't know about Candy Optical. I picked up my glasses yesterday (10-12-2023). While I was at Candy Optical there were no waiting, no hassle just pure joy. I pray that Ariel and Branka gets the recognition that they deserve for their time and service. God Bless them both!

They are real pros here. With a personal touch. They made the process seem easy and stress free. Happy with my new quality specs and spoiler: there is actual candy/chocolate at the end:)

Branka is the best in the world. She helped me pick out some beautiful glasses and walk me through the process thoroughly. I also got some much needed contact lenses as well.

Friendly staff. Short wait times. One of the few places in the area where I've seen air purifiers in use, yay! Pricey, but fun and good quality.

Had this store they focused on customer services 1/10th as much as the Proustian response they left to my one-sentence negative review, I probably would have left a very satisfied customer. However, let me recap the experience as it ACTUALLY happened to give a full accounting of this self-important (and may I add - quite empty & probably failing) establishment:

I was lost and called the store several times, and no one answered the first few calls - the girl that answered was extremely rude. When I finally got to the store after wandering for 20 minutes, it was near closing time. The same girl (I am assuming because the voice was the same) eyeballed me and looked at me askance as she was wiping down the glass counters, signaling that she was ready to go home. Not a good start.

The lenses she offered were extremely overpriced compared to the EXACT VSOP coverage had been offered me only one week prior at my home-optician in Los Angeles. I flatly told them they were overpriced compared to my other store - no one likes to be robbed - and she did not like my frankness. She took this as my being cheap, not being able to afford it. I could afford it - but why should I pay for their exhorbitant mark-up?

Realizing that she was being rude, the girl made a last-ditch attempt at forced kindness and offered to clean my current Balmain frames. I relinquished them to her, taking her up on her offer. This took awhile, but eventually an Eastern-European man that had been quietly and vampirically lurking in the wings (possibly management) emerged with my lenses popped out of the frame.

He proceeded to tell me my lenses were cheap. I knew they were cheap, as I had them done at a discount shop last year - I usually get one pair a year (with all the frills) as part of my VSOP coverage, but the Balmain's were an ancillary throw-away pair. The ones I had done last year with the expensive lenses were at home.

I told him I did not consent to his popping out my lenses, and I asked for them to be put back in. He bent and manipulated the Balmain frames in front of me, very aggressively - and they almost seemed like they were about to crack. I took the lenses, and left.

I did not like the insane markup - I did not like that he was so aggressive with my lenses - and I did not like the rudeness of the staff. End of story. Eye Candy's response to my one-line negative review was 8 paragraphs - whereby they suggested that I needed therapy. I plan on reporting this to the Better Business Bureau.

Had an amazing experience at Eye Candy! It is definitely a hidden gem among optical shops in Cleveland. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for an extraordinary experience. Dr. Eric is a true professional with a deep understanding of eye health and vision care. The optical stylists Marina and Branca are also very knowledgeable, talented, and passionate about their craft. They carefully listened to my preferences and lifestyle needs before presenting me with a curated selection of eyewear options. It was delightful to be able to choose from such a wide variety of stylish frames, all of which were from top-notch brands. End up choosing a pair of Tom Ford glasses and couldn't be more happier about this choice!

I had a wonderful experience, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The eye exam was quick easy and well priced. The selection of glasses was amazing. Id highly recommend this store if you are in the market for eyewear.

I usually purchase my eyewear online. However, the coating on my lenses started chipping after a little over a year of use. I decided it was time to get something of higher quality. I originally went to visit Eye Candy Optical to ask questions about their lenses and frames. Not only did they answer what probably seemed like silly questions, they did it with a willingness to educate, which I was very appreciative of.

The experience after scheduling my eye exam was extremely pleasant. The doctor was friendly, and the exam itself was quite comprehensive. Afterwards, I ended up working with a lovely young woman named, Branka, who I can only describe as a sommelier of eyewear frames. The experience as a whole was fantastic, and I look forward to coming back in for my next great investment. Thanks everyone!

Steve and his team. Beware they will try to take advantage and mislead you to get you to spend over 1000 on lens that you don’t need. I feel manipulated only because I needed glasses same day and they tried to take advantage of that. I would not recommend this place unless you don’t mind throwing away money and being manipulated to increase their sale quota.

Dr. Eric is wonderful. He is thoughtful and creative and truly wants to help you see better, not just wear contacts or glasses. I have tried for many years to get help with scleral lenses for my keratoconus and other doctors just did not take the time he has. Go see Dr. Eric.

My experience with this store was exceptional. Everyone is nice especially Dr. Friedrich and Dr. Barkan. My daughter had difficult to put on contact lens at another store due to the rushed service. However, Dr. Barkan was very patient and explained everything in detail. After almost half hour, my daughter finally can put on and take off the contact lens. Plus, it is a local store!
