Fairfield County District Library reviews
12Neat. Well lit and well organized. Staff is very pleasant. They have self checkout if you don't want to deal with people. Not a huge selection, but good enough for most needs.
Lancaster and the county are lucky to have our library system. The programing, resources, and atmospheres are wonderful, and much needed in our community. The diversity and inclusion encouraged through the library system is so refreshing in Lancaster.
Excellent library! So many resources and programs. On-going books ale in lobby! Parking onsite.
Always helpful and friendly staff.
The elevator is out of order, making a trip downstairs (and back up) difficult for people with disabilities. The facility is clean and welcoming with books for sale and featured writers. It’s a nice place to study.
I love how inclusive our library and the staff are! They strive to create a welcoming environment for all individuals and host many events to share a wealth of knowledge to our community. People of all ages have the power to learn about topics that interest them that would otherwise not be available to them. This is a safe space <3
I really appreciate the diversity and wide array of topics in our library system! I appreciate knowing all people have access to books that help them feel valid, wanted, supported and not alone.
Obtaining a vast array of knowledge is a freedom not everyone is able to experience. Using that to grow and better the world is powerful! Many more patrons of the library system should branch out of their traditional go to’s and explore other topics and avenues! A wealth of information and resources are available for growing the mind!
The library has been a wonderful partner with many community organizations. They are incredibly invested in the citizens of Fairfield County. The staff are kind and professional. Our family is grateful to have this amazing resource in our town!
We are so fortunate to have this amazing library. A safe and welcome place to all who seek knowledge. An invaluable asset to our community with books and media to explore and learn about nearly everything there is to learn about. The children’s floor, Garrett players and gallery along with the many varied programs offered to all, regardless of gender, race or orientation is a beautiful gift deserved by all citizens. Keep up the good work.
A fantastic talk by a Bruce Babcock on the history of Rock Mill. Bruce's book was being given out. The group in attendance had lots of good questions.
I've heard good things about this library from my family members with young children. When I went, things were well organized and everything was easy to find. There were lots of staff members available, and they opened right on time to a sizeable crowd. There's adequate parking on the street and in the lot by the building.
The beating heart of Lancaster. What every library should be. The staff is extremely helpful. The selection and recommendations are my favorite weekly discovories. The place feels like my second home. The third floor art exhibits give me life and inspire my purpose for living. THIS IS MY FAVORITE PLACE TO GO AS OFTEN AS I CAN!
I’ve always loved this library but recently the workers have been closing over an hour before close. That’s inconsistent and very unhelpful to large parts of this community who rely on the library being open at certain hours.
