Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park reviews
15Pretty good just if you go swimming in the area closest to food area there is some big rocks at the beginning closest to shore
This is a wonderful beach. As long as you get here early, and it's not too busy, it's easy and cheap to park ($3 for out of county, $2 in county). The views are beautiful, and the facilities have everything you need: bathroom, changing rooms separate from the bathroom, showers, concessions stand. There is even a small playground. They have kayak and paddle board rentals right on the beach. There are lifeguards as well. The water is shallow and very consistent in depth, pretty much the same depth of about 3 feet almost all the way out to the swimming ropes, where it does get a little deeper, 5+ feet. The water seems clean, and they do have algae postings, and both times we went the water was safe per the green sign. There is plenty of sand on the beach, but be aware that as you step into the water it does get rocky until you get further out to more sand. This can be uncomfortable on your feet, so you may want to consider water shoes, although most people do fine without them.
Overall, great beach experience. We will visit again!
One of the best beaches on the North Coast. Very clean. We come here a number of times over the summer! Love this place!
The grounds were kept nice. They had new water showers to wash the sand off and a new restroom. I haven't been down here in 3 or 4 years. There were picnic tables under shade covers all the way down the boardwalk. There's a play area with slides and monkey bars, a concession stand with hot dogs, chips, drinks and ice cream. Life guards on duty at 11am.
Love this place. I would drive the hour and a half just to go to this beach. Its so clean and perfect for the little ones!
It cost $2 to enter the park. The park is very large with lots of areas to swim and kayak. There is a concession stand. The dog park area is very small with too many rocks for dogs to swim in the lake. But if you are looking for a very nice, clean park to spend a hot day by the water this is a great park to do so.
A fantastic beach front park, though during the day it does have a parking rate that you'll have to pay to gain access to the general parking area. It's best to go later in the day to avoid this charge. They've got on site canoe and kayak rentals, and even a dog friendly section of the beach. Over the last couple of years they added a board walk that strolls along the beach and some areas for wheelchair access to the water. While it can be crowded, it is still a good little park
Since this was my first time to lake Erie it was a great experience because I went with family from the area. The water was beautiful and refreshing. The weather was fantastic and everyone there is very nice. Overall a fantastic experience.
I’m definitely disappointed. I used to come here often with my dogs for the dog beach. Well I don’t know what happened to this place. Three years later and it’s completely gone. All it is is rock and cement. So I paid to park for no reason. They should probably say that it’s no longer usable for dogs.
The park is beautiful and the lighthouse is great.
We were there for the beginning of the summer concert series.
It was Reggae Fest with headliner, Carlos Jones & the Plus Band, Quasi Kings and Land of Panda. Great groups, great music and a well behaved, mellow crowd.
It is wonderful that Fairport Harbor is inviting people into the community with good music.
Pay to park? Why? Park in the street in Fairport Harbor and walk down the hill. Also, if you get there after 5 the lot is wide open. Decent restrooms. Nice, but small beach access.
Beautiful sweet water lake Beach. Unlike headland beach Fairport Harbor Lakefront beach has limited parking. However, great place for summer picnic and Beach activities.
I love this beach. I no longer live in the area, and still travel 30 minutes to this beach. It is clean, and gorgeous out here.
The beach was nice and peaceful when we were there the other morning. A camp group arrived and they were very well behaved. It was nice to listen to the kids talking to each other and having fun outdoors.
