Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que, North Olmsted OH

I’ve been a customer of this restaurant for many years. I’ve bragged about the food to family and friends. However, after my latest experience I will NEVER eat here again. I took my family here to celebrate my sons 13th birthday because this was his favorite BBQ spot. Upon arrival the place was empty, the host made it seem as if it were a problem that we had a party of 6 and took about 5 minutes to find a place to seat us in a empty restaurant. Once finally seated the the server introduced herself and she was professional and doing her best. We ordered our food (which was priced higher than ever before) and waited about 20 minutes. The food was in no way what it had once been in the past. The brisket was dry, the “red skin mashed potatoes” were clearly not red skin, they were from flakes! The fries were under cooked and the Mac n cheese was cold. Everything was cheap and disgusting. Do not waste your money on this over priced low quality food. The management team should be ashamed of what they have allowed this once great restaurant become.

My first visit and was blown away Tammy's awesome, helped me find the perfect family meal. The taste was great, we will be back for sure.

Great ribs, food is always great. It still is the same great place it has always been. Price when up a bit but you get what you pay for and it sure is delicious.

Not as good as the Minneapolis original, but passable, and open for lunch, despite a very sparse crowd. I always wish there were more combos with Beef Brisket available as I'm always "chickened out" from home meals. The sweetly dressed coleslaw was just what the chef ordered for the spicy Bar-B-Que sauces.

Was disappointed not cause of the food but the long wait time to get a table. Was looking forward to having my 60 birthday dinner their but my friends wouldn't wait an hour.

Food was room temperature and very bland.
The server was very nice.
The wait was 25 minutes with no other people waiting and nearly all tables were open.
The ladies room smelled like urine, needed cleaned and is just in bad shape desperately needs updating.
This place doesn't have anything on Uncle Bos in Elyria and the only reason we came was because Uncle Bos closed for the weekend to allow staff to spend time with family for Thanksgiving weekend.
Will not be returning.

We ordered a hickory smoked turkey feast. The food was phenomenal and easily prepared. The macaroni and cheese was particularly a hit. The mashed potatoes were great. Really, everything was tasty. I've also dined in at Famous Dave's and the barbecue is top-notch.

WHILE I LIVED IN MICHIGAN I CAME TO LOVE FAMOUS DAVES AS THEY HAD FOUR RESTAURANTS NEAR BY! I USED TO FREQUENT THEM QUITE OFTEN! I MISSED THEM ALOT SINCE I MOVED BACK TO MY HOME STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA SINCE THEY DON'T HAVE ONE HERE! MY BEST FRIEND AND I WENT TO VISIT THE ROCK-N-ROLL HALL OF FAME IN CLEVELAND ON 10/20/2021 AND AFTER OUR VISIT WE TOOK THE HALF HOUR DRIVE TO THE FAMOUS DAVES IN WEST OLMSTED, OHIO! IT HAS BEEN PROBABLY OVER EIGHT YEARS SINCE MY MOVE BACK TO PA. AND COULD NOT WAIT TO DIG IN TO THEIR GREAT FOOD! I WILL HAVE TO SAY THAT THEY DID NOT SKIP A BEAT AS THE FOOD WAS AS GOOD AS EVER! WE BOTH GOT THE HALF RACK OF RIBS AND THEY WERE GREAT! THE PLACE WAS NOT CROWDED SNCE WE GOT THERE AROUND 2PM. I WANT TO THANK THE WEST OLMSTED, OHIO FAMOUS DAVES FOR THE GREAT SERVICE AND AS ALWAYS THE GREAT TASTING FOOD! IT IS WORTH THE TWO HOUR DRIVE FROM PENNSYLVANIA TO EAT HERE! I WILL BE BACK! IF NONE OF YOU PEOPLE EVER ATE AT A FAMOUS DAVES YOU ARE MISSING ONE OF THE GREAT DINING EXPERIENCES EVER! THANKS-LARRY!

I had the Veterans Day free meal. The staff was very accommodating. I really appreciated the gratuity. Food was good. Love their Mac n cheese!

I can only give one star, but I will never return! Every. Single. Time there’s a problem! Attitude‘s from servers, incorrect orders, and just bad service! We gave them another chance after my grandmas funeral bc she liked their food and it was unanimous: No more Famous Dave’s!

Sat at the and ordered dinner. Staff was amazing and the bar was clean. Food however was not good for the price. Got the brisket. No fat cap on it which would explain why it was over cooked and dry. Bummer. Daughter ordered the ribs and pulled pork which were very good. Pork was juicy and tender. Just a bummer about the brisket.

Everything I ate was amazing. I had the platter with baked beans, macaroni cheese, cornbread and shredded chicken. Also the banana pudding for dessert was heavenly.

I hadn’t been here since it first opened so I decided to order to go. I got the beef brisket and rib tips. The brisket was just ok with no intense BBQ flavor. The rib tips were dry and lacking flavor too. The bbq sauce was really off putting so I was glad I had some sauce in the fridge from another bbq takeout restaurant. The cole slaw was good.

The staff was very friendly, great service. The ribs were tough and lacking flavor. The bread pudding was amazing. My first time there and won’t be going back… very disappointed ️

We went in around 130 on a Friday the restaurant was fairly empty as far as we could tell, We were seared in the middle section. We ordered waters and the burnt end app. Then didn’t see our server again until she came to get another’s table order that was seated some time after us. We finally were able to put in the rest of our order which was the lunch 2 meat combo. My girl had the ribs and chicken and I had the sausage and fish fingers. About 10 minutes after that our burnt ends showed up and I’m pretty sure it was slightly blackened hunks of ham. Incredibly unimpressed. Thee were an unimpressive 7 pieces for this $12 app. When the food came there was maybe a good bite of meat off each rib the chicken looked at tasted like gas station rotisserie chicken. The sausage was ok but the fish fingers were pretty good. The highlight of this visit was the sides my greens and her broccoli were amazing! Will never come back

Famous Dave's was not our cup of tea. The meat was tough and the sauce was gross. The training waitress was good, but the head waitress i could tell was getting tired of our requests. The drink I had was good though. Once the food got to us it was semi warm. It just wasn't up to par for any of us. I fave them 2 stars because of my drink.

Another one that my grandkids love. There is never a complaint. The food is so good, having 3 BBQ sauces to choose from always leads to discussing what flavor is their favorite. I don't know why but the decor is fascinating to them as well. They think I must be 100 years old since I can identify all the brand names.

Had a bunch of tables open but made us wait 45 minutes to be seated and then made our large party sit separate (not because of covid) because they claimed there were not tables large enough for us. There were not very many appealing options on the menu, drinks were the same and food was not great, Save your money and go to a local BBQ place. Our server was amazing though, she was the only reason we stayed!

Famous Dave's is awesome! My fiancé took me here for a lunch date a few weeks ago and the food and atmosphere is lively and the customer service was excellent.

Picked up some Dave's barbecue to go. Couple of dinner platters with complete racks of ribs and all the fixins to go with it. Food was cooked correctly, tasted fresh and definitely worth every penny. Will be making a stop back soon
