You hear about banks ripping folks off in a subtle way but these guys are as blatant as they come. NEVER take a vehicle loan with them. They will steal your money and hold your title hostage. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I hate fifth third so much; they caused me to cancel my account because of their customer service and terrible handling of me when I was their customer, i forgot that was the last account linked to the IRS Stimulus, the portal to change my bank account was gone, and my stimulus money went to a closed account. This was a long drawn out story as to why I left them, but they managed to get me one more time. I will remember fifth third for life as to how much I despise them for making me leave and now losing my stimulus money that will sit in limbo. Part of this is my fault, but they really forced me to leave months ago. I will hate you for the rest of my life fifth third.

This company needs to get it together. You have workers that are suppose to be working from home and kids in the background yelling and screaming. How do they work in the office with kids absolutely not so they should not be working from home without someone watching them. You are told by workers they can work better in the office so there for fifth third get your workers back in the office then maybe they can get more home refinancing done quicker instead of waiting over 6 months. I'm getting ready to cancel and go to another bank and if I would of read reviews first I would of never went to fifth third in the first place.

From a customer service perspective there are people and processes in place to resolve issues, my issue required escalating to the supervisor but once in their hands they were able to work on it and solve it beyond my initial expectations. As for the way the bank itself goes about business, I have some doubts they have their customers' best interests in mind given some of the random fees and restrictions on the account. Overall they seem like a quality bank and I'll keep them as an option for future banking.

Fifth third bank has to be the worst bank that I have ever dealt with. Open an account literally anywhere else.

I opened a fifth third account and bought my home through them, which has since been a 5 year headache. I could deal with the online banking that lags or our cards constantly getting hacked if literally anyone that worked for this company was knowledgeable or even polite.

I had been trying to get fifth third to drop the PMI on my home. I had bought it at the age of 25 and completely remodeled it. I did a home equity line of credit to do some last things before we were putting the house up for sale. Fifth third came out and appraised my house for more than twice what I owe on it. I was excited, so my personal banker told me to write the letter to drop my PMI. We decided not to sell so fast forward to two months later of fighting with even more rude people at fifth third (is anyone who works for your bank polite) I am still told they won’t use that appraisal done by fifth third, and that I need to pay $750 for a new one. I was even recommended on to some joke of a department called fifth third cares and spoke with Takia Johnson who insisted she would handle the situation and couldn’t even find the appraisal in the system. I had to scan and upload it to her, only for her to finally call back and say I’d have to pay for another one because this one wasn’t ordered by fifth third. What!? ! She basically accused me of ordering it myself despite it having fifth third all over it. Don’t get a loan from this bank, don’t open an account, just don’t do it. They are the rudest people I have ever dealt with, and I can’t wait to close my account and refinance my loans ASAP.

Called in on a Saturday because my online account is locked but I can’t get through to the call center because it says they’re closed but should be open 24 hours? I’m so confused cuz I have NEVER had this issue and I need to access my money to pay a bill!

Called and talked to Sierra about mortgage due to not working from stay at home orders. All they offer is 90 day with no late fee, at the end of 90 days they want payment in full. All other banks are giving skip a payment options. You should be willing to help out our country in time of need. We are all in this together not for you to make extra money. This is worse than price gauging. Nothing like kicking someone when they are down, this shows everyone what kind of Americans are at 5/3 bank. You should look out for seniors like me as you will be a senior too someday.

I would seriously give this institution zero stars. They are horrible to work with and treat customers and potential customers like dirt.
My first visit to their bank was to open an account and get something notarized, they would not notarize anything because my account was not open prior to that day. The banker was rude and snotty and basically told us to get out.
The second attempt was trying to deal with a most inadequate mortgage group. I beg you do not bother with them. They do not return calls or assist people in any way, they are the worst.
Even the complaint department is seriously inadequate at this institution!

Sadly I tried to call the phone was answered in a most unprofessional manner. If you really want to discuss the issues with your bank give a # to one actual person not some #800.

Have a car loan with them, did not get the first payment or the payment book.got on the phone and called them. A nice young lady helped me get things sorted out, paid the first month and she fixed the address mistake on file. My experience was great as I was very worried something was wrong with the paperwork filing. They handled the situation swiftly and also got me set-up on auto-pay. I was super impressed with the customer service I received.

I know a few people who have worked there and they complained about how they treat the employees I didn't think more about it because they didn't work there anymore but I have a close friend there and everything they said was true bad place to work

My short experience with fifth third bank was not good, to call them was difficult, to get needed answer more difficult, I will not use them again.
I give 2 star instead of one because I finally got needed information

I have a loan that was transferred from MB Financial to this company in May of this year. I was sent a letter signed by P. Brian Moore, Senior Vice President. I was told in this letter that because I was on Auto Pay for this loan with MBF that I didn't have to do anything, that the account would transfer to auto pay with fifth third. That has not been the case.both in June and July, I had to make the payments manually. Each time the customer service reps assured me that they had fixed the issue and there was nothing more to do. Supposedly the payment, the correct date and the paperless option was corrected. Today 7/16/19, I get a bill, (when I'm suppose to get an email not paper) again signed by P Brian Moore stating my payment was due on the wrong date again! Worse talking with a CS Supervisor, she 1st assured me it was all fixed again. I ask to talk to a senior officer of the bank to air my grievances and she told me that I couldn't and that she would have to be that person that no one could speak to MR. P Brian Moore or any other officer of the bank. She would not even give me a corporate number for me to further express my dissatisfaction. I'm a disabled retiree on a fixed income only getting paid on the 1st so my options are very limited, but rest assured i'm going to be looking for another finance company to take over this loan. If P Brian Moore is a real person, you need to start earning your over 1 M dollars and satisfy your customers.

I spent more than an hour on the phone today asking for the mailing address and fax number for Fifth Third Bank insurance services. Three calls made. Two of the calls, I was not given the information. One call I was given the wrong information. This should be generic, public information. What are they hiding? Just wasting my time time, trying to do business with them.

Worst customer service ever. I took out a loan with 5/3 Bank, then I never received a bill and yet for the last 3 days I received about 8 phone calls (from caller ID = Unknown). Then when I finally answered one if the phone calls, their first question is “what is your Social Security? ”. Really who gives out their SS# to an unknown number? And since I have not received a bill I do not have an account number which is the only other way they will talk to you. Send me the bill before calling me multiple times? And make sure you are visible on caller IDs?
