A group of us guides from Stan Hywet in Akron decided to visit on our time off. We had a wonderful tour of the home lived in by Pres and Mrs McKinley. Our tour guide, Ranger Lisa, was a delight and super knowledgeable and personable. After the tour of the home she then walked us over to the First Ladies Museum where we could wander on our own. Admission is a bargain at $7 and I highly recommend seeing this gem in downtown Canton!

I wish there was more here. The first ladies deserve more. I realize this would cost money but don't they deserve it. Right now Jackie Kennedy is being highlighted and it is well done.

Maybe I’m confused, but I’m wondering why everyone is giving this museum 5 stars. There was very little information about any of the First Ladies. We saw the Jackie Kennedy exhibit on the first floor with the reproduction dresses and some memorabilia, but as far as other First Ladies not so much. We also saw the exhibit of the designer who did some clothing and scarves back in the 60’s. The LL had a movie playing, a few pieces of china, an invitation or two and a few presidential Christmas cards. The second floor had some kids dress up clothing, the library (which we could not access) and a room with 8x10 photos of each First Lady. There were no other floors open or things to see. We were extremely disappointed because out of all the First Ladies where are some pieces of clothing, charities they worked for, other keepsakes to display? The over hour drive was not worth it at all. We did not visit the Saxton house because it focused on only one First Ladies childhood home and nothing else.

Took a day trip with my sisters and this was our destination. I love the Jackie O exhibit and reading about her. Cool place!

Great exhibit on Jackie Kennedy. There tour of the McKinley house was really interesting. That part does require a ticket. $4 for National Park pass holders. First come, first serve and only a small number so get there early.

Current main exhibit is about Jackie Kennedy, but contains information and artifacts of most of the First Ladies. No charge for the building visit. We paid a small fee for a tour of the close by Saxton house where President McKinley and his wife, Ida Saxton lived. Well worth the few $ for the tour.

Website and National Park App said open, but the sign on the door said closed until May 2024. If there was some where else to go, there is no signage. If the historic house next to the museum is open, the signage refers you back to the museum, which is closed. Both the website and National ParkApp need to be updated, to reflect the current hours.

The Facebook page has several times the site is open. Summer hours through October. We attempted to visit the site but it was closed. It’s great to have hours on the door but we live approximately 400 miles away. Beautiful architecture and the renovation work is a work in progress.

I attended a special event that was held after regular operating hours. The museum currently features an exhibit on Jacckie Bouvier Kennedy Onasssis, which was so well done! Beautiful building! The staff was excellent! This establishment is worth a visit and worth supporting.

Not well organized. Only focused on Clinton, Kennedy and Roosevelt. Expected a better overview of all first ladies. No chronological order. Also showcased some people who were not first ladies. Just not up to the standards of a so called "national" museum.

It wasn't all the big, but still, they had dresses that Jacqueline Kennedy wore during her time in the White House.

Great little National Parks site, very much not what you expect to find in Canton, OH but amazing at what it does! Not very big, but they make great use of the space and have wonderfully informative exhibits!
The Historic Site itself is free, the house tours are $7/adult, I highly recommend taking the tour because it was the best part of the entire visit!
There’s even a little parking lot for the site, which I highly recommend using!

Parking off site but free. Appointment needed to see house. Focused on very few first ladies. Jackie Kennedy exhibit excellent and interesting.

It was really good and movie downstairs was worth it. But it mostly focused on Jackie Kennedy. My friend was hoping for more on other 1st ladies.

Disappointing site. There is nothing substantive regarding the First Ladies—the centerpiece is an exhibition of Jackie O’s dresses. One could easily walk away with the impression that the proper role for a First Lady is to be a fashion accessory to the President. That is sad because many First Ladies have substantive legacies that are not being shared at this site.

The highlight was the historic bank building.

Exhibits are nicely done and placed well within the rooms of this Victorian house. Free
parking is only a block down the street-an easy walk.

Interesting place, learned quite a bit. No charge to go through, which was a nice surprise.
