Forno Osteria & Bar Montgomery, Cincinnati OH

We had a to go order over father's day weekend. The food was ready when promised and well packed. I just went in to pick up the food so my atmosphere grade defaulted to excellent since I could not judge that part. We had the lasagna, appetizers, and gnocchi. We did not realize that we had to cook the lasagna but that was out mistake. They use a bolognaise sauce that is excellent in the lasagna. Great restaurant to try out.

I've been to the restaurant 3 times. First I tried tramisu coffee and liqueur. I was very satisfied.
Second time I tried pasta with bolognese sauce and wine, it was also very delicious. The staff were also very kind
but the last time I went to eat tramisu, it was very bad. It was like a coffee with cream on it, not the tramisu (cafemisu) Although it was bad and obvious, a new one could be offered.

The best restaurant I have been to in years! The food was out of this world, and so was the service.

Be prepared for a slow kitchen. They take a long time to get entrees out. Food is good, not great.

Forno Montgomery has become a regular favorite. The atmosphere is a nice blend of upscale casual, and the wait staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. My only problem is the gnocchi is so wonderful, it’s hard for me to try any of the other wonderful options. Thanks for a lovely restaurant.

My date and I came here for Valentine's. The food was decent, but could not make up for the server experience. We were seated soon after our reservation, but didn't even get water for nearly 30min. We watched other tables get seated and served their first course before anyone even approached our table. If we hadn't prepaid for the pre-fixe, I would have been inclined to leave then.

But we stayed. The waitress was clearly flustered and that translated into her being incredibly rude. With very little patience, she explained the wine pairing like we were idiots. She spoke only to my (male) date and not (female) me. (It is the Year of Our Lord 2023 and I'm perfectly capable of making my own decisions.) The courses were not timed and unceremoniously dropped in any empty spot on the table. The one bright spot was a kind food runner who brought us a bottle of water when he saw that we had run out.

I'm a huge fan of the other restaurants in the Cristian Pietoso group (Via Vite and Nichola's), and was excited to try Forno. I'm sorry to say that Forno didn't live up to my expectations at all, especially for an ostensibly romantic holiday meal.

I stopped in on impulse today hoping to find some good seafood pasta. When I got to the door I realized that everyone inside was dressed very nice and this was clearly an upscale type of shindig. I looked a mess with slippers and a hoodie, so I decided on take out.

Upon entrance I was greeted with a warm smile and the hostess helped me choose the best pasta option as there was no seafood pasta, several other people came in afterwards and she did not take her attention off of me other than a second to call for help as the line grew. She did not make me feel any less than the other people who were obviously dressed for the occasion. I opted to wait at the bar for my meal and not once did any guest or employee give me an evil eye or make me feel like I wasn’t apart of the party! Very friendly atmosphere. The bar tender was great and made my drink as requested it was amazing! I noticed her peaking over her shoulder at my facial expression to see if I liked it or not. This shows true passion and great service. After my meal came out steaming hot and neatly packed, the manager noticed me peeking in the bag and quickly came by to ensure that everything was ok and I had all the items I expected! I politely asked for plastic silverware and he obliged. My utensils were dropped in my bag within seconds! The food was good enough…not what I had my mouth fixed for.busy most importantly I had a rough friday and this experience absolutely made my night! I will absolutely be back again and again! Thank you for your courtesy’s.

Very nice Italian place. The food reminds me of being in Italy. Great Neapolitan style pizza. I approve.

It was way too crowded though. I guess everyone already knows this is good.

We went for the Valentine's Day prefix menu, the burrata with pesto was fantastic, everything else was just really standard at best until we got to the entree.

We both had the short rib with porcini risotto, while the risotto had good flavor, It was almost more like a loose oatmeal texture. The short rib was not properly seasoned, leaving a inedibly salty crust while the inside of the meat was completely flavorless and overcooked. It was overseasoned and somehow completely bland at the same time. Neither one of us finished out entrees, nor do I think we'll be back. I will say however the service was fantastic

The food and service was amazing! I see why it's so hard to get into this place! All of the courses were amazing! I didn't have a bite I didn't like! The only thing that was a slight (and I mean very slight) was that it was a bit crowded and loud and hard to have conversations at the table!

Very good restaurant with great food. The flavors are on point. I give this 4 stars because when our waitress took the order, she said our entrees came with a side salad but we found out later that it was an extra cost for the salads. No big deal because we wanted salads anyway, but it was a bit odd that she made it seem as if they were part of the meal. I would definitely go back here, especially for the gnocchi!

The restaurant's ambiance was quite nice. Tables were a bit close together. The staff (Michelle) did an amazing job. The food was disappointingly average. The short ribs were dry but the sauce was tasty. Enjoyed the creamed corn with truffles. Nothing special about the veal scallopini. The desert was okay as well. I came with high expectations (drove 30 mi.) but probably won't be frequenting this place.
