This place is amazing! We have been taking our golden retriever to camp here for almost a year and we plan on taking our puppy there too when he’s old enough. This is more than a camp and the owners truly care about the well being of all the dogs. They treat each one as their own and develop each dog in their own way. I highly recommend Furry Tail Shack to anyone who wants a first class experience for their fur babies

Coco has just started at this highly recommended doggie daycare, he loves everything about it so far. We go occasionally to the ice cream socials, which he really enjoys. The owners are exceptional at their job, cares so much for the dogs, and the dogs love them.

I have been taking my girl Emme to Furry Tail Shack for the last several months. Best decision EVER! Mariette and Justin are wonderful caregivers and very attentive to all the pups! Emme loves going to "camp" and playing with her friends. She always comes home tired out and happy. I love all the extras they provide too, birthday parties, dock diving field trips and fun themed parties the pups can attend! The pup cafe has all kinds of cute treats and gifts too. The Saturday ice cream socials are a sweet idea for taking your pup for a treat! The Furry Tail Shack is truly "The Happy Place" for any pup!

I really appreciate Justin Herold at the Furry Tail Shack. Justin always takes the time to tell us about Barkley’s day. He comes up with some really creative ideas to have fun with all the dogs and keep them entertained. We always schedule our reservations well in advance because we want to make sure that Barkley gets in for his Furry Tail Shack time. Barkley has so much energy and it’s so great for him to stay active and social with other dogs. Justin always goes out of his way to make sure we remember our next time reservation time. We always looks forward to seeing and talking with Justin. We are so lucky to have an amazing happy place where Barkley can go to socialize.

Where do I begin? For many dog owners (myself included), our furry babes are not just pets; they’re family. We want the very best care for them, and we may think that no one quite loves them like we do. If you’re like me, you probably believe that a perfect place with a wondrously devoted staff, well-behaved dogs, and a spotless and loving environment, does not exist. Well, I am delighted to share with you that such a place, is, in fact, real, and it is called Furry Tail Shack. Our big teddy bear Labrador Retriever has been coming here since he was a puppy. I truly do not know how words could do our experience justice, but let me begin by saying that the owner, Mariette, is a dog expert first and foremost, gentle and kind caregiver second, and overall angelic human being. Her co-owner, Justin, or “Uncle Justin” as our dog knows him, is a joy to engage with, caters to the dogs like you would not believe, and I’m pretty sure he must have guarded the gates to dog heaven in a previous life. He truly treats each dog as if they are his own. We came here on a whim after a family friend sang their praises and recommended this facility (with bells on). When I tell you I could not be more pleased with our experiences here, I am vastly underestimating the magnitude of our satisfaction. When we say the word “camp” aka Furry Tail Shack, our dog SPRINTS to the car with a big drooly smile, ready to see Uncle Justin, Mariette, and all of his buddies. The relief of knowing that he is in the very best hands humanly possible, is invaluable peace of mind. The way Mariette is in-tune with each and every dog’s language, gestures, personality, needs, wants, etc…. I’ve never seen anything like it. It could be described as divine orchestration. She takes their health and well-being incredibly seriously. There are certain people in this life whose unique talents and gifts are undisputed, and she, undoubtedly, is one of them. We can never thank them enough for all that they do. Their thoroughness alone should win them a Pulitzer. Look no further than this dog heaven on earth! Your doggy will thank you for years to come.

Our dog means the world to us. He is part Aussie, so exercise and mental stimulation is a must. We feel like we hit the lottery with Mariette and Justin. They are continuously coming up with arts and crafts, agility, hide and seek and so much more to keep the dogs entertained.

Not only are they amazing, kind-hearted people, they go above and beyond for our boy Bleu. As a small business owner myself, I understand the need to have fun doing what you love while having protocols and guidelines. They are fair, honest and we feel blessed to have Furry Tail Shack for our dog to attend.

Furry Tail Shack is a doggy day care center, pup cafe and store in Strongsville.
Co-owners Mariette and Justin run a professional operation and are totally devoted to the care and well being of their campers, providing stimulating activities and exercise throughout the day. They take it in turns to work one-on-one with the campers to build their confidence and agility. Furry Tail Shack also offers hydrotherapy services for ailing dogs. Our Samoyed has been a camper at Furry Tail Shack since it opened and can't contain her excitement as we near the facility on the way to camp.
Clients are kept up-to-date with a monthly newsletter that includes a helpful article on canine care and the Furry Tail Shack store is well stocked with healthy foods and fair trade toys and accessories.
Stop by the cafe on summer Saturdays for fresh cool treats to enjoy on the patio.

We are very thankful for Justin and Mariette. The pride they take in their business and caring for the dogs is evident by our dogs excitement every time he sees them.

We just want to thank Mariette and Justin for all their hard work and patience while working with our pup, Barkley. Barkley was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia at 8 months. We saw an orthopedic surgeon to determine our course of action. The doctor suggested hydrotherapy because of his young age. We began hydrotherapy at The Furry Tail Shack twice a week. After 5 months of hydrotherapy, Barkley is no longer limping or showing signs of discomfort. The doctor was impressed by his range of motion and felt his progress was the best outcome he could have hoped for even if he had surgically intervened. He was also impressed by Mariette's attention to detail and the progress tracking notes she provided. We are very grateful to Mariette and Justin for caring for our pup while he is in their care. He absolutely loves going to camp at The Furry Tail Shack!

DISRESPECTFUL to CLIENTS. I am writing about the extremely unprofessional customer service I just received from Justin, one of the owners who screamed at me in rage regarding a cancellation I was requesting to process. I was cancelling a reservation within 24 hours due to my dog's illness, to which he said he was going to charge me anyways - with a very defensive attitude. The cancellation policy is: you must pay if cancelling within 24 hours. I asked if it could be waived, since it was due to illness, which I was even willing to bring in the vet's assessment. Justin rudely interrupted me and said absolutely not, and raised his voice even louder. This is not even the worst issue I had this morning when dealing with this short-tempered business owner who does not understand the value of treating their clients with respect. He spoke to me in a condescending tone and made me feel my business was not valuable. It was clear that he had no interest in helping me and just wanted to argue with me instead of negotiating. I offered to come an extra day when my dog was well to make up for the cancellation. I had to hang up the phone, because he continued to scream at me. Due to this unacceptable and frustrating experience, I will no longer be doing business with the Furry Tail Shack. I would never recommend this business to anyone, and will be sure to share my negative experience with others.
