Gabriel's Southern Table + Whiskey reviews
16 What a fantastic selection of bourbon and whiskey. The list is long but some great treasures in there to sample
We did flights to taste the different levels of complexities. But the WOW was the food. Whoever is cooking it up back there has amazing skills in the culinary game. Flavor combinations, plate presentation, using local ingredients and making them shine on the plate. Great job!
So much for the 50% off gift card I purchased from Fox 8. This establishment didn't pay their sales tax for multiple months and got closed down by the Ohio Department of Taxation. They took monies the customers paid in taxes and kept it for themselves. Shameful.
Very cool restaurant/bar in downtown Cleveland. Joe did a great job bartending; best cosmo in town. They were out of several food items, but the wings and cornbread were fabulous.
The food at Gabriel's is overpriced and newly changed to appetizer only. We ordered the singular crab cake for $19 and then the Cajun tots. The tots were good, but the crab cake was tiny and extremely over priced. When we visited, the menu was limited even further to only half of the items on the small appetizer only menu. I only came because I had a discounted gift certificate, but I would not go again as it is today.
Absolutely one of the WORST dining experiences of my life. They were of 60% of what was on the already small menu, out of even more than the server was not aware of. Also out of part of the cocktail we ordered. Overall a nightmare of an experience. The food that we did actually get was awful. Do NOT waste your time! It is not hard to do better than this! Oh, and the rooftop was closed because the owner was up there having a private party while his restaurant was a total dumpster fire.
DON'T EVEN BOTHER.
We went tonight before our concert, we should have known better as we saw it was the only empty place on East 4th on a Saturday night. We waited for a host but ended up walking and seating at the bar. Staff wasn't very friendly, the bar was sticky and smelly, we ordered food my beetroot salad was ok nothing out of this world beetroot tasted like canned food, my husband ordered a burger and it was dry, the pattie was so small he left half of the bun. You couldn't even drink water because the glasses looked and smelled so bad. Silverware dirty and I couldn't finish my salad because there was a bug in it, we had to rush so we didn't even tell our waitress.
We stopped here for dinner. Delicious food and generous portions, easy to share. They have lots of tables, indoors and outdoors. Very friendly and cheerful staff, happy to make suggestions for food, drinks or what to do after dinner lol. Great selection of drinks. We sat outside and enjoyed the night life on the street. We were there early August 2023 and it was quite busy on the street. We didn't have reservations, but not a bad idea to call ahead.
There are many restaurant options in the area and we're glad to have stopped here. The parking is not on the street as the street is pedestrians only. But not a far walk. Priced reasonably. We would definitely go back.
This restaurant scammed us. We walked in with another couple and sat at separate tables, but we received a $10 per person "group charge. " They also included a service fee, which accounted for $30 being added to our bill. We asked the manager to explain what the group charge was and she was not able to explain the fee or help us remove it. The service was also extremely slow, however the food was good. Do not recommend dining here.
Absolutely amazing! Great service and food, I had the chicken and waffle handheld and my husband had the southern fried chicken, this is now on both of our top 5 lists!
Great vibe, great atmosphere. Had the southern fried chicken. Was good!
Best of all was our bartender Nick. Very accommodating, knowledgeable and quick to a joke. Will come back again to try some bourbons!
Beautiful restaurant in the heart of East 4th. Amazing cocktails, great service, welcoming atmosphere. The bartender Nick and the manager Logan were very accommodating. Wonderful experience!
Server dumped the appetizer on the table. Didn’t wipe it up or apologize. Just walked away. He seemed like he might be stoned. Beignets were just “ok. ” Drinks were “ok. ” Mussels and bread pudding were good. We will not return.
I have ate at Indie countless times and was interested to see how Gabriels would be. I hate to say it but I'm kind of disappointed. I feel like they're definitely going for a different customer base but personally, it just doesn't hit the mark. Food is decent, service is either average or sub par depending when you go. Whiskey selection and prices are okay. Also I have noticed they are closed sometimes even though it says they should be open online.
Outstanding food! The hot honey cauliflower was probably the best cauliflower I’ve ever had and the bread pudding was decadent. Also enjoyed the short rib poutine - great portion for sharing and all the meat cooked to perfection.
Hair in cornbread. Fries at room temperature. Server did not return to table so we could ask for ketchup for fries. Nashville chicken sandwich had good flavor but served on bread which was much larger than chicken breast.
Our server was fantastic. Had the lobster Louie salad and the gabes hash. Upon his recommendation, both were delicious
