Very informative location that has a variety of gamers needs from ps1 to ps5 games.the only complaint i have is the prices. They're essentially scalping prices for things like controllers. I got a xbox elite series 2 for a small chunk less than they're selling standard controllers for. Walmart has better deals than this place. Stop being greedy imps.

Very helpful, felt comfortable there, and the young was happy to answer questions and showed me what I was looking for. The gentleman was courteous and helpful also.

They have some really great stuff, including an amazing selection or board games. But some stuff can be a little expensive.

Recent renovation makes it look like a brand new store. Way more nerd stuff to find here. They also made little cubby areas for different genres of pop culture similar to a box lunch store.

Ive been going to this store for my Magic and DnD needs since they opened, very friendly employees and i know the owners by name. If they dont have something in stock, they can usually get it for you.

Nice people with a good selection. They have a good dnd section which you don't see in the area at too many stores.

The store has had a major renovation/redesign of the layout inside, it looks amazing and the staff are really excited about it as well.

They told me it has been almost a year since the rework of the space.

It feels like a super neat and upbeat gaming store and less like a run down resell place that specializes in games.

No offense to how it used to be but it has really made some awesome changes, there is even a 3D printer and a whole lot more new merchandise from brands like Squishmallows, DnD, Marvel and many anime titles!

You can even get anime props and other things as well!

The new store layout and shelving also has given them the opportunity to have a much more robust support for buying tabletop miniatures in store, not only for DnD but Pathfinder and other games and has supplies to paint them as well.

Last but not least they still offer space in the back for Magic the Gathering, DnD, and other game nights. And have scheduled dates for all kinds of stuff to meet new people and play.

Friendly staff, clean store and a nice selection of board games priced very competitively against large online retailors.

Having recently moved to the area my wife and I were thrilled to find a game shop less than five minutes from home.

Love reading reviews from obviously disgruntled customers about how things didn't go their way in a used game store. So, I'd like to give my experience as a customer and an employee, to help clear the air of any misunderstandings that may have occurred.

Gamescape has been around for a very long time in Mount Vernon. They have (to my knowledge and experience) always had an enjoyable staff, even all the way back when they were off the square in town.
Recently, as of November 2021, they have done a complete remodel of the store. They had a transition in focus due to the ever changing online gaming market to deal more with board games and popular tcg (trading card games). As many game stores are considered, they give decent prices on items they don't already have multiple copies of for trade in. The store is not collection based, so they are looking to redistribute used items so used items can be cycled through the community. This is how a used game stores usually work, people bring in games they don't want anymore in exchange of cash or credit to get a new game they enjoy. This keeps games in the stores gaming community so you can (hopefully) find what you're looking for. In regards to a recent review of there being fake used magic cards, the store checks authenticity on cards ranging above $10 in value. Certain bulk and/or lower value cards don't get checked due to their abundance. Also, the magic community their is friendly enough to convince me to get into the game after weeks of considering. Watching them every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and seeing their enjoyment and fun had me convinced to join that community. There are of course some bad eggs that come into the store to play, but the majority of them still play with them despite them being toxic players. Some people take advantage of the kindness unfortunately, and vape in the store or leave their trash all over the play area once they quit because they lost a game of magic.

During the time of the mask mandate across Ohio mostly in 2021, there have been some complaints of having to wear them. Yes, there WAS a mandate at the time, not that we wanted to kick you out if you didn't want to. Another review stipulated, that we kicked a child out with asthma out instead of, "checking with an adult first. " I remember the store offering curbside pick up at the time to limit chance of contracting covid for both sides. Which was denied by the customer during the time of the mask mandate. We then told the customer unfortunately we would have to ask them to leave until they put on a mask that either we provided, or they had for themselves. The customer then left angry at the fact they had to follow mandated rules. The store isn't evil people.they are concerned about the safety of their staff and customers, which can be misunderstood as demands. As an employee we love seeing new faces and simular faces alike, we enjoy hearing feedback as much as possible, this is how we grow as a company. I personally hope this review expresses the store isn't perfect but for what kind of store it is, its amazing in comparison to what is out there.

Magic the gathering cards are prices too high and trade system gives you virtually nothing for trade or money. I don't recommend buying cards from the store. They do not authentic magic cards at higher prices amd fakes were purchased from there store on more than a one trip accusations. Fun to play magic in store but not for transactions for trade, money or store credit. Players that come are also tempered at times. Not the ideal place for play.
