GameStop, Wadsworth OH

This store is hit and miss. Some clerks have been very nice and helpful others very abrasive. Turnover here seems to be quite high over the years. I've had issues in the past getting things I've wanted or needed on location. Issues with having things on display but not in stock.

Came in to pick up a copy of Spiderman 2 (PS5) for my son on the day it released. They had plenty of copies in stock and there was almost no wait. I also participated in a midnight release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom earlier this year and I thought that was very well organized, with everyone who showed up leaving with what they wanted in a timely manner. Plenty of video game and pop culture gifts and collectibles available as well.

Helpful staff and good prices, but everyone knows don't trade or sell you games there. It isn't worth it.

Bought my daughter a pre-owned Nintendo, switch lite with Pokémon. Let’s go Pikachu. Bought a screen protector so that there would be no more damage to the screen. She showed no interest in this whatsoever didn’t like it so I took it back where the trade-in value is currently $130 for the switch light only to be told that the screen has too many small minor scratches on it so it would be marked as defective and I would only get $89. Lesson learned never buy anything preowned from GameStop probably better off just to avoid GameStop all together.

Tried to trade in a ps4 pro today, was told by the worker that because we factory reset the system they wouldn't take it unless we drove home and created a new profile. We were the only patrons in the building at the time so its not as if the person working didn't have the time. Lost our business to the Echange.

My son got a game as a birthday present. He didn't want it, so we were trying to return, we were told we could only trade it. They gave me $23 as a trade in, just to find out our friend paid $68 for it brand new not even a month prior. I tried to buy it back and the response I got was, "We already bought it back from you so you will have to pay the price that we sell it as in store, $54.99+tax" that is absolutely freaking ridiculous and a rip off. They knew exactly what they were doing!

Games and geek stuff. What's not to love. Unless you like shorting stocks.
