At 4: 00 AM one morning, my fire alarm started beeping. The power was out. When I couldn't fall back asleep after the beep woke me up, I walked out to see the clocks on my Microwave and Stove were on. I flipped the light switch next to me and nothing happened. I reported a partial outage to AEP, and got a notification that power was restored, then they called to tell me that everything was fine on their end.

Now, when I say it took until a day and a half later until someone came out, that was a product of the apartment complex doing its duty lackadaisically. Once Ray from Garber got here he diagnosed the problem quickly and told me what he could do in the confines of what he was authorized to do in that moment. It was sadly 7: 30 PM when he got here, so it wasn't a lot, but it was still a big deal to me.

He noted that the phase that was out would still need to be taken care of at AEPs equipment, but on the owner's side. This would require AEP to come back and blah blah blah. What he could do was double up some breakers so I could get some important lights rather than just the bedroom ones. He was able to get the light in the front stairwell that is pitch dark at night, the front door light, and the one near my desk so I could work. It seems small but it was a godsend since I was going to have to wait multiple days for the full fix. He also gave me his headlamp!

I hope he's the guy they send back to finish the job when the project order is agreed upon.
