We've been customers for nearly fifty years! Birthday cakes, donuts, balish, cinnamon rolls and breads are all WONDERFUL! This Christmas check out their beautiful window displays. They have been in business since 1898!

All of their baked goods are always delicious and beautiful! Their gingerbread display is so neat at Christmas too!

There aren't too many bakeries like this left.
You can feel the history. We are lucky to have Gartmans in our area. It hasn't changed much since it was founded in the late 1800s

I have nothing but great things to say! I sent in a picture of an idea for the cake and it turned out beautifully, not to mention delicious!

Great friendly customer service. Love having such a good neighborhood bakery. Especially when all the supermarkets had no bread I could always count on Gartman's to always have some available.

Bought a nut roll yesterday. Can't figure out what the dough is. Bread or cake. Really disappointing.

This is a little hidden treasure in downtown Painesville off the square. It is very reminiscent of old time bakeries. I ordered and purchased a birthday cake and everyone enjoyed it. They are very accommodating to your requests here. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Hard to leave there without purchasing a treat to eat on the way home. Highly recommend.

Hands down, this bakery has the best Balish in town (otherwise known as Kolaczki) call at least 24 hours in advance to order your favorite flavors or buy a mixture by the dozen when you walk into the store. Delicious!

Delicious cake and pops! Our theme was “ONE in a melon” for our daughters birthday party! Cake and smash cake came out beautiful and full of flavor (almond)! The cake pops were a hit as well and perfect for little ones! Family owned business we love supporting!

We had a Christmas in July party and ordered from another bakery a week in advance. They called us the day before to let us know they could not do the cookies. I called Gartman's and spoke with Brittany to ask if there was any chance they would be able to do 60 Christmas cookies in such a short notice. Without hesitation she took care of us! The cookies were delicious and the staff amazing, from ordering to pick-up! I highly recommend Gartman's as they are my families go-to place for cakes and now cookies too! Thank you all for your exceptional customer service and delicious treats!

The bakery has changed. The things you used to get were fresh and moist and had a good taste. The cake was dry, like it was 3-4 days old. The donuts were bland. Very disappointed.

I ordered a strawberry cassata and received a fake version of it. They didn't use fresh strawberries they use a strawberry jam! They did not use a rum sponge soaked cake just regular ole white cake, and vanella jello pudding, without any whipped cream icing unbelievable! And I found 2 pieces of long silver hair on the regular icing that they used. DISGUSTING they don't ware hair nets so their shedding hair is mixed inside of your baked goods! Beware. I will Never Ever order anything from them AGAIN.they actually get no stars.

They always go above and beyond my expectations! They made a cake for my daughter's birthday and it was the talk of the party.

Called yesterday to see if they made poppyseed and nut roll they have them both ; I picked up four the price was responsible and the service was great I will be definitely be using them again thank you Gartman's Bakery for a great experience!

Purchased a chocolate and a white cake and they were not at all what I had hoped for. Too dry and tasteless
