Brian is a fantastic mechanic, super friendly and very helpful. His prices are very fair. This is the only bike shop I use.

My 1st visit at Gear Up was in April, I called every local shop in the area of my home, and no one would even take look at my e bike because it was not purchased with them. Well I dialed one more number and found Brian. My pedal had striped from my crank, he did explain his policy on ebikes that were not purchased from him which I understood. I brought my bike to Gear Up, Brian took care of it. 2nd visit, I called Brian up because my chain had broke off on a group ride. He did the repair and made adjustments to my gears, Well today was my 3rd time visiting Gear up. I needed a bolt for the calipers on my brakes, I took it in, Brian put in the bolt did a adjustment for me and sent me on my way. CLUTCH. Brian if you dont know now you know. Your my Guy.

I came in the shop to have two break clippers installed and ask about measurements for a crank i needed replace.when i walked in the door there was a tech named brain working, tasteless jokes.the shop was dead as a ghost town it was early in the week.the greeting was weird and he treated me like i had no idea what i was talking about, he looked at me and told me if i didnt get it done right now it would be a three week wait, to install clippers what a joke.so i go ahead and let him do it.he goes on to talk about how he dislike ppl and the ebike and dont like answering question and what not bc so many get on a the trend.what trend.cycling.he did not do a fair amount of work on my bike he changed out a pair of clippers and then charged me 30 in labor what a rip.w/e man i went to century cycles and they installed my crank and new bottom bracket "20 bucks, much more work then clippers "and told me it was going to be maybe a week and had it turned around to me in 1 day. 3 weeks for clipped to back me into a corner and not tell me the price, to charge me 30 bucks in labor at the end.the shop is dead.and to say most shops wont install a part not bought at the shop is b/s.above and beyond is not treating your customers like they are dumb.gl ill never be been back or send someone your way.this was my exp at gear up velo

I went to gear up velo today as my rear tire on my bike went flat and the lining in the tube had twisted around my gears. I asked Brian if he thought he could have it done by Friday when I wanted to ride again. He said if you've got a few minutes and things aren't too complicated I'll fix your bike right now. A few minutes later everything was done. Not only that but I brought in my helmet for riding that I hadn't used in quite some time because I was having trouble adjusting it and Brian took care of that too. And of course he did not charge me for that. The cost of replacing my tire and lining, along with readjusting my gears after removing the tire lining from the gears was minimal. What a shop. What a guy. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

While pumping up for a ride on the towpath I busted the stem on my tube clean off. This shop was close by and a life saver. In about 5 minutes my tube was replaced. We chatted about a potential bike purchase and I got some great advice. Exceptional service, prime location, and great friendly customer service. This the best shop around!

Was referred to Brian for a bike fitting by another bike shop I respect highly. Brian took his time and made adjustments that made a difference for me. Brian is great to work with, and you can tell he really cares about his clients and the community. Nice selection of gear and bikes too.
