George's Family Restaurant, Dayton OH

Food was alright. Restaurant is FILTHY NEEDS DEEP CLEANING. BLINDS CURTAINS, AND OUTSKIRTS ARE DIRTY.

Visiting from Columbus for a wedding and was looking for a great breakfast spot. Saw the reviews and photos of home-cooked food and decided to give it a try. Parking lot was full so I knew it was a sign it was a great place. Food was great, staff was courteous and cheerful. Best breakfast I've had all year!

Sweet lil mom and pop place. Took my son he ordered the Western Burger. It was pretty big had onion rings and bbq sauce on it. It said it was delicious.

I started off with four stars in every category and then I thought why not give them five because I couldn't think of anything bad everything was great, great portions. Staff is very friendly the place was clean. Did I mention our bill was only about 30 something dollars it was three of us and we had a big hearty Breakfast

The food here is delicious and the service is outstanding. This is one place I will most certainly look forward to visiting again and again.

The food is generally excellent and service is good.last time on my BIG BROASTED CHICKEN Dinner take out they forgot my honey and butter for bisquets after specifically ordering and big tip

They were quite busy so please take that into consideration along with we were a table of 5. Eggs were hot, french toast was room temp, bacon was crispy (which is how I asked for it). Food tasted good. Had to flag down waitress for refills. You had to seat yourself but the only table that would fit us still had food smeared on the table although dishes had been removed. They left 1 set of "unused" silverware & placemat on the table when they did clean it off. (In my estimation all silverware.should be removed.)

Great local diner! Delicious food, especially for the very reasonable prices, and super friendly service!

Waited for our food 30 minutes after ordering and other people that came in after us got served we decided to pay for our drinks and leave and was told not to come back by the owner we have been regulars for 6 years first time we didn't want to wait on cold food won't ever go back glad to say we run into one of the waitresses at the store and she said George's had new owners and everything is 100%better we eat there every weekend now

Daaaamn, great potatoes and awesome service. This place is great and I'll die if I don't have a patty melt from here every now and then.

We enjoyed this restaurant! The service was great, and the food was outstanding. We had the broasted chicken that was hot and juicy. Well worth finding!

The atmosphere was fantastic, service was amazing, and the food was just delightful. Best breakfast place I've ever been to hands down. Definitely making a point to go there every time I'm in Dayton. Highly recommend

Wonderful food and great service. Very accommodating. I loved seeing all the usuals and staff interactions. You can tell they really care about their customers.

This review is long overdue. I don't know what has happened to what was once our favorite little weekly diner, but it's been bad for about a year (Maybe longer as we did not eat out during the pandemic). Every time we have eaten there or picked up carry out, there's been an issue.

Maybe it's the new ownership? Idk but every time we go it's one problem or another.the food is severely overcooked (burnt), they're out of salad (sorry it can no longer be blamed on supply chain), they all together just forget to put in your order, the "all you can eat fish" ends up being "all you get" because you're never offered more than the 2 pieces that comes on your plate, the wait staff standing around doing nothing or they're bitching about mgmt behind the booths where you CAN hear them, or you're put in a booth and totally forgotten about. I'm sure I'm forgetting more issues.

We've given more it than enough chances-about twice a month but that was cut back from once a week. To be fair, there have been times we thought things were improving, but our next visit was always the same- very disappointing.

Finally, I'm sorry to inform them, but after last night, we will no longer be George's customers at all. After eating there, by the time we got home (within about an hour) we were both racing to the toilet where we spent the next 2 hours. We felt bad all night. If other customers experienced this, the Health Dept should probably investigate. There are Many elderly customers who might not fare as well as we did though.

I leave this honest review not to be mean but to alert the owners of serious problems that need to be fixed before someone gets seriously ill. We used to really enjoy eating there but needless to say, that is no longer the case.

Owners, Please FIX George's Diner so we can come back. If you don't know how, please sell the business to someone who does. Thank you.

"don't come back". Well, I guess that's one way to respond to customers who have continued to come back for far too long despite all of the problems and only want to see you succeed. It explains why you're FAILING!

We have NEVER asked for ANYTHING for FREE.not even your unsold leftovers on your free dessert night! Didn't even use the 10% off coupon that you gave us the last time for your FAILURES! WE DO NOT NEED FREE FOOD. We're more than capable of paying your ridiculous prices for what you provide.

We have supported George's for FAR too long. It's YOU who has ruined it but YOU apparently are blind to the problems and refuse to take responsibility before someone gets seriously ill! IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN and then what are you going to do? GET SOME HELP WITH IT! IT'S NO LONGER "DAYTONS BEST" ANYTHING! THAT TITLE CAN BE BOUGHT AND PAID FOR!

You don't want us there, DONE! Ialready told you we weren't coming back. We would have taken down this review had you simply agreed to look into and fix the problems. Again, BAD MANAGEMENT, BAD RESPONSE, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

BTW, there's MOLD in the cracks of your booths too. Clean it up!

Quaint family restaurant with amazingly good food. The staff is friendly, efficient, and accommodating. The home fries are just like mom used to make; the broaster chicken is delicious; and their waffles are out of this world. Or try their Greek gyro or hamburgers. Both are excellent. We visit often, and honestly, I have never had a bad meal there.

Phenomenal!
We were in a rush on a busy Sunday morning and the staff was more than accommodating. They got us in, brought us amazing food at very fair prices and got us out and to our appointment on time. Everyone was professional and friendly.
The food was great and we will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Service was fast had a very good waitress who brought out food hot and received refills very quickly I enjoyed my meal and the people I was with did too!

We were in town for the Dayton Airshow and had a party of 6 we were told it would be 5 minutes but we were seated rather quick. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Our food was hot and very tasty. Will definitely be back when we are in town again.
