Godavari Cincinnati reviews
18It was a good, clean, and tasty food place couple of years back.but now its not. The food they served was reheated and not so tasty. It does not feel good to write negative review, but I miss old Godavari food. Now I would rather go to other Indian restaurant.
Godavari Indian restaurant in Mason, OH, is a commendable dining option, offering a diverse selection of flavorful Indian dishes. The buffet variety is extensive, catering to vegetarian and non vegetarian needs of different tastes with well-prepared options. The restaurant's ambiance is pleasant, creating a comfortable setting for enjoying the culinary delights. The staff is generally attentive and friendly. Additional desert options would improve it further. Despite this, the delicious food and inviting atmosphere make Godavari a solid four-star choice for those craving Indian cuisine in Mason.
This is most over rated Indian restaurant. We have ordered Raju gari kodi vepudu and Godavari prawns vepudu. What I got was un cooked prawns and un cooked chicken with same gravy which doesn't have any taste. Literally No taste at all. No salt not even medium spicy. I have also ordered Gongura mutton biryani and recieved Normal mutton biryani.when I asked for it they are trying to bluff as it is Gongura mutton biryani if you want we can add some more Gongura. They are thinking people who are coming don't know how they taste and what ever they are saying we have to belive it. Only dish I liked is Sambar Rice. It s some what good. I have raised the concern to the staff and I got response saying that this is the first time we are receiving complaint he will convey it to kitchen.
Food surprisingly tasted very good with lot of vegetarian options
Service was quick and good
Place was a little congested but you will not complain about it once you taste the food
Food was delicious but a bit pricy! Solid buffet though and I do love their Indo-Chinese selection
Firstly we are excited to order from this restaurant, we ordered 3 biryanis, 2 kodi biryanis and 1 kaju biryani, firstly the kodi biryani is worst, chicken and rice are too hard to chew.secondly the kaju biryani, which is full of masala and smelly.how can they send this kind of food to customers, which is completely unacceptable.worst experience ever.
I'm really greatful to having food in godavari Cincinnati. Actually im thankful to cheaf who made this amazing food.
First time I go to an Indian restaurant, not a good impression, furniture was white but it was all stained at the bottom, food was acceptable but not returning any more.
I ordered a samosa plate for take out, got 3 small samosas but they were not fresh or even smelled bad. I am not sure about their other stuff but don't go for samosas at least.
The food was great. Ghee karam dosa and taagubadu kodi vepudu are just yummy. Don't miss to order those items.
I was happy to see their lunch buffet open recently, but I could only go there once due to really expensive buffet price per person. Whereas other Indian restaurants in Cincinnati charge around $14-$16, they charge $21.99, which is really a big difference for regular customers. I still give a 4 star for their food, but I wish they could lower the price down below $18 so that we can visit more often.
I rarely leave reviews, but after my visit to Godavari, I felt compelled to share my experience to hopefully see improvements or alert fellow diners. As an enthusiast of South Indian cuisine, I had high hopes, especially with the buzz surrounding their dosas and curries. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the expectations set by their vibrant menu and promising reviews.
Ambiance and Service:
Upon entering, the ambiance seemed lackluster and not as inviting as one might expect from an establishment priding itself on cultural richness. The seating was cramped, and the lighting was a bit too dim for a family-friendly eatery. We were greeted, but not with the warmth that I've come to appreciate at other South Indian restaurants. The staff seemed disinterested, and it took a while for our order to be taken, despite the restaurant being far from busy.
Food Quality:
I ordered their 'signature' Masala Dosa and Sambar, alongside a cup of Madras coffee. The dosa, which should be a crispy crepe-like delight, was underwhelmingly limp and lacked the fermented flavor profile characteristic of the dish. The accompanying sambar lacked depth and the robust flavor of tempered spices. Additionally, the coconut chutney was more reminiscent of a bland coconut paste rather than the flavorful condiment I anticipated.
Hygiene:
Another concern was the cleanliness. The cutlery provided had water spots and didn't seem thoroughly cleaned. The restroom facilities were also not maintained to the standards I would expect, which is always disconcerting in a dining establishment.
Overall, the meal was a letdown, not just in the quality and flavor of the food but also in the service and ambiance. I'm hopeful that this was just an off day for [Restaurant Name], but as it stands, I cannot recommend it to fellow diners looking for an authentic and enjoyable South Indian culinary experience. I do hope the management takes this feedback constructively and brings about the necessary improvements for future patrons.
Dinner with the team. This was the 2nd time. Really good food. Onion samosas were perfect and so was gobi Manchurian. Would visit again.
Had weekend buffet, It’s good.
I felt price is high $21.99, pls make sure before u go for it.
It was good initially when it opened. We’ve been there a couple times recently and service was painfully slow despite only a few people there. Lamb curry was very tough and hard to chew, even chicken tikka had hard and dry chicken. Service and quality have gone way down and it is very dirty inside the restaurant. There are way better Indian restaurants such as Bawarchi or Ravi’s Hyderabad House for dosa. The only good thing left about Godavari is their catering. The restaurant is.
Food was great. However the water smelled bad. It smelled like chlorinated sewer water. We asked for bottled water, would have been happy to pay for it, but they DON’T OFFER BOTTLED WATER. We bought a couple of Limca cans from fridge and were disappointed with them as well. Chemical tasting fake lemon flavor. Management needs to address this issue and let me know. Otherwise we will likely not go back.
We did not dine in at the restaurant but they provided catering service for a party we went. First and foremost - Quality of the Food - Top notch. A Rated. Period.
But is that alone enough when providing catering service? Not at all. They have zero clue on how to provide service in a party/event. They were filthy, very unprofessional in handling guests and do not have an ounce of idea on how to serve food. Absolutely no way close to clean - they messed up the whole area. They did not have any idea on how to arrange food or the order in which food items have to be placed. Completely Clueless. They were trying to market their restaurant in the event which came as a complete shocker. Just because you cooked something new, you cannot force guests to eat something they do not want to.
If not for the quality of the food - I wouldn't hire them ever. My suggestion would be - Just deliver food at an event and disappear.
I was very disappointed, because the Website says you have a buffet. You did not. So I drove 10 miles in the opposite direction to find a delicious buffet called “Flame Indian Cuisine” in West Chester. It did not disappoint! I’m going back again on my next day off.
