Grand River Cellars reviews
14We stayed as Harvest Host guest. Meet friends there had a very nice lobster dinner snd a Pinot Grigio. They had a very nice packet for us as Harvest Host guest with local info and some little gifts. Wonderful time. Great stop.
The outdoor seating areas are beautiful and they allow you to take your dog, which is a plus. The wines are on the sweet side, which is ok if that is what you like. Our server was polite and professional, but I think he was a bit overwhelmed. My wife ordered a chicken Caesar wrap, but received a club wrap with ham and bacon. We did not send it back, because it was not likely to be the server's fault and we didn't want to make him feel badly. The food is not great, but not bad. If your expectations are to have a sandwich and chips served in a plastic basket, you will be happy and satisfied. Just as with the wines, it has a lot to do with your preferences. This is not a culinary destination, but it's a pretty place to sit outside and have a basic lunch.
This winery used to be a place I enjoyed going to every summer. This past time, I spoke with the owner personally and she had the nerve to tell me that she doesn’t serve “people like me” whatever that means. I was there with a group of girls from work (Hospital) so I’m not sure what she meant by that. I was so shocked and disturbed by her prejudice comment and she even continued after that. I can honestly say that I will never be going back.
We went for music bingo night and it was a blast. The food was great and came out fast. The server's were wonderful. The place is beautiful inside and out. If your out in wine country, give Grand Rivers a try. You will not be disappointed.
Came here for my mom's birthday. The property is absolutely beautiful. You drive by their farmland before driving up to the restaurant. We sat on a Bruschetta. It's absolutely beautiful. They have 3 various patios. Service was great, anything we tried from the food (there were 6 of us, so we were able to try a few things).
Appetizers: Cheese Platter, Bruschetta, Bread basket
Main Course: Steaks, pizza, salmon, salad, burger
Desserts: chocolate cake, Limoncello cake
Everything was very good
The wine was amazing! Loved the cookie dough pairings. The cocktails were super cute and super yummy!
Enjoyed sangria and a meal on the deck on a beautiful evening. Limoncello cake for dessert was excellent.
I took my family and international guests here for mother's day dinner. I ended up feeling embarrassed at the entire situation at this winery. When I made the reservation, I had some basic expectations for indoor dining at a winery. I was incredibly suprised to find that our food was served on exclusively plastic, disposable plates, paper cups and cans of soda, and mostly plastic utensils. I felt like I was at a backyard BBQ rather than a winery. The appetizers were good and the venue is beautiful.but I was not impressed with anything further. Most of us were unimpressed with our food. The burgers and wraps came with what seemed to be bagged chips. Most disgustingly, we found that the olive oil used on our steak dishes was going bad as it developed a fishy odor. And if my suspicion is incorrect, my steak meal was contaminated by fish somehow. The men's restroom (according to my BIL) features a wide open urinal directly next to a small sink where you can witness another gentleman urinating right next to you, with no visual barrier, as you attempt to wash your hands.
I will never come back here. It was bazaar and did not even come close to meeting basic dining expectations.
First experience at grand river and it was absolutely disastrous. Our waiter who i never even got his name (he looked like Johnny Bravo with a failing hairline on roids) completely disregarded our table. When we confronted the guy he had to make sure it was his section (nobody else was attempteding to serve us) (We were already J chilling for 30 minutes) If you've never been I highly recommend skipping this winery if you never been. Highly HIGHLY disappointed.
Grand River was always my favorite winery to visit. I have had large parties for dinner and never had a bad experience until this afternoon. I was there this afternoon with my son and future daughter in law to discuss renting one of there rooms for our wedding rehearsal in September. We ordered our lunch and drinks after which we were asked to leave because the table we were sitting at was reserved for 4pm and it was 3: 35. Needless to say we will never go back there again. The girl who told us we had to leave was so rude. Our waitress was like, oh ya, sorry, this is reserved for 4pm. I found this experience very unprofessional, extremely rude, and totally avoidable.
We will not be renting a room from Grand River Cellars for the rehearsal dinner and I will NEVER visit this winery again.
Our first stop on Ice Wine fest was not a disappointment. The white chicken chili was very good!
GRC has a nice and spacious patio and interior. Service is good, but unfortunately the wine and especially the food is TERRIBLE. This was the opinion of ALL 14 people in our group, pizza being the worst item and the club wrap scoring the highest praise of “it’s OK”. Even the guy who only orders “fast food off the kids menu” said the burger was bad. I hate to give negative reviews being a business owner myself, but part of me believes it might motivate the business to improve since I want all good people to succeed.
Nice winery with a lot of seating. Visited for the ice wine festival. Servers were very polite. They had live music when I was there.
It was fantastic. I never painted on canvas before and I was so happy it came out nice. Thank you to the instructors and my Sis for helping me. Fantastic!
