Wont help you with aggressive loose dogs, claims theres no leash laws and there is leash laws in Ohio.the city of xenia is overrun with aggressive dogs.a lot of small dogs and people have been harmed or killed due to there negligence. And their shelter is full of only one type of fighting dog breed…. This is why the city is overrun with aggressive dogs

We just adopted Raven and Eclipse as siblings for our kitten Cream Puff, they are getting along well! The staff were very helpful and the kitten room is adorable. We went in to adopt one kitten and we left after adopting two.

I don’t know what to say I’m speechless, but Blue was part of my life my children’s life as well. Blue was born into our family & was taken to soon by one of your employees, Hicks had no compassion for Blue on that day, what an evil cruelty way to choked Blue to death. I know Blue suffered by the hands of one of your officer employee, but in the end the world will know how cruel this was & try to band all catch poles to get Justice for our boy Blue. Green county animal shelter You choked Blue to death didn’t even gave him a chance, Shame on you. Blue was still just a pup had just turned 1 you took his rights as well, shame on you & you say you are working hard trying to find pets to loving homes, WELL Blue had a very loving home sweet home. All you done was cover up the investigation & fail to Discipline your employee. #JUSTICEFORBLUE

If you live in the greater Dayton area this is the LAST place to call or bring a found dog. They are quick to kill. They deem MANY family pets as unadoptable due to “temperament test” all the while the pet is lost and scared. 3-4 days and they kill your dog. Lucky for me I live in a different county and while montg. County ARC isn’t much better, they don’t kill a fraction of the animals Greene county kills. My friends who live Greene county have had terrible experiences here. If you want to HELP a lost animal, call someone else. If you just want them to go away, Greene County will make the animal disappear.

One word. Disgusting. These people don’t treat any animals with any respect, compassion or care for them. They’re all animal abusers and will sit there and protect each other. There was 110% wrong-doing in the incident where one of your employees took a dogs life. Wether that incident was a year ago or 10 years ago. We will not forget Blue, the amazing dog that you guys decided to kill. I truly wish you all get the karma you deserve. Rot in hell.

Gabriella Hicks is a disgusting human for what she did and you let that behavior happen! How effing dare you. I wouldn't even trust you guys with a child's pet rock at this point in time. I hope you guys get what you deserve along with Hicks how dare you let that happen under your watch. Just imagine if that was your pet. Unforgivable!

Has not given any repercussions to an officer who broke protocol and ended an animal, somebody’s beloved pets, life. She strangled him to death, claiming he was aggressive even when footage shows the opposite. This business should not have someone like that working there. She is unsafe

We don't want any big, intimidating not to mention dangerous dogs loose in our neighborhood. Thank you for taking care of the issue. We appreciate your efforts and courage to ensure our neighborhood a safe place for our children and pets. Irresponsible pet owners must face consequences.

The green county animal shelter is a JOKE, they should change their name to (do nothing to help animals)

We have adopted our dog last month and the staff was wonderful, they let us bring our other dogs to play with our new puppy to be sure that they all got along. It was a great experience. Another girl in our household adopted a kitten and had a wonderful experience, the kitten is so sweet. And then yesterday we had a stray dog in our backyard very sick and the animal control guys came and got the puppy, we wish we could’ve kept her too, but now we have three dogs and two cats so thats probably enough lol. They took great care of our dogs before we got it. It has always been so kind and helpful.

I needed to rehome my kitty rarity because I thought I was going to get a dog but they said I’m not approved this place sucks don’t adopt here

We adopted Seamus (aka) Bruto to join our family. We couldn't be happier with him. He is awesome and fits right in!

Rude officer as I walk in the door. Him saying over the phone that I can come by at 2: 30p, then he was rude when I came in at that time saying a dog could've gone home sooner. Now they are returning said dog back to his owner where he wasn't being taken care of. Good luck Animal control.

You did not reach out to me. I called you and was happy to give any information I had. But unfortunately you close at 6: 30. I was only trying to help a sweet, unhealthy dog off the streets. You say he has skin issues, yes but what about him being completely underweight? I am happy you are going to check in with that owner, as you should. And the "officer" that spoke with me only stated "the dog could've gone home sooner" and did not elaborate. I wasn't trying to make anyone's job harder. Just trying to help a happy dog.

Horrible place. The staff members are very rude and have no remorse for what happened to blue. This place needs better training and a whole new staff. David turner laughed about Blue dien and it's all on record.

Horrible staff with no sorrow for Officer Gabriella Hicks killing my dog. David Turner stated, while holding in his laughter, "the dog more or less fell over and died" while on the phone with dispatch. No wonder Hicks couldn't keep herself from smiling that day, inconsiderate trains inconsiderate. Does Hicks dragging my boy by his neck look like my boy falling over and dying, David? If so, you seriously have something wrong with you. They block negative reviews and silence the media when the world starts speaking out about their horrific behavior. They delete bad reviews from "non-customers" but make sure to keep the 5 star reviews from pitbull and bully hate group members who dont even live in OH. Go ahead and delete this review like the thousand others, Julie Holmes.

You say you cannot comment on the case but how about giving a public statement on the individual in question? Will any action be taken against them?

A friend adopted the sweetest, most loving cat from here 2 years ago! The staff is very kind and they keep the facility nice. I highly recommend Greene County Animal Shelter! Very easy to get to…right off of Route 35 near Rural King in Xenia. Be sure and check them out! Awesome experience to be a part of! The entire family seems to enjoy this sweet, loving, cat! She’s a perfect fit to the the family!

We love our Simba. He’s one from a litter of five kittens we fostered. Wonderful staff who truly care.

Have adopted 2 fur babies here. Staff was professional and very caring for the animals. Facility was clean. Would highly recommend to others looking to adopt.
