Update: The solution that is mentioned below turned out to be warranty work. Which is fine, but that wasn’t my complaint. My complaint was the design.

They did offer to draw up a new design I could pay for, but I declined. I do not trust them enough to pay for any more of their services.

The retaining wall they installed originally to mitigate the water did nothing to help in the slightest. This is a design flaw. This is what I thought would be the focus for a solution.

Not to mention there were several additional services that should have been offered to mitigate the water, but they were overlooked in the design phase. If I come to a landscaping business and say “I have water problems in my yard, ” one would expect the whole yard to be analyzed. Hindsight’s 20/20 but it still stands that all of the yard should have been analyzed.

I never intended to ask for anything from the business. I just posted my review to share my experience with it. If all that would be offered is warranty work, I’d rather have been told that up front. I would have moved on, rather than put more time into this.

Truly disappointed with my experience, will not use again.

Had drainage installed around this time last year. Spring came and it rained heavy on a number of days. Our drainage system was full in a day and took weeks to a month to go down. We had this installed to prevent a flood, but it did nothing. So our house flooded a lot and it kept coming because the drainage wasn’t draining. I spent almost a week remediating the situation. And that’s not considered the price of the issue fix, which was triple what I paid for the landscaping.

The install team performed outstandingly. They dug very slowly, layer by layer because of the cable and electric right underneath according to the markings. The plantings were painstakingly installed, even replanting one shrub slightly for a better look. The mulch was a very nice final touch.

The clean up was so meticulous, even including blowing off the street of leftover dirt.

I couldn't be more pleased.

Congratulations to this team - they represented Grunder well.

Grunder is presently outside of my house doing a small job. I've never personally used them before but have heard many wonderful things. The foreman and crew are going above and beyond. I am so impressed and so glad that we selected them for this project. Thanks Brent and team.

Excellent work, great staff and super easy to work with. If you want a top notch landscaping firm, look no further. They now handle my home and my business landscaping for good. Awesome quality work and they should be recognized as a top company in the Dayton region. If I could, I would give more than five stars. I could not be more pleased. Highly, highly recommend.

I chose what I did not like about this business being, not on time based on the observation made assuming that the person driving a green Grunder company vehicle in a reckless manner by exceeding the speed limit by 30 mph in a construction zone 75 southbound, south of st.rt. 35 clearly indicates that I am late or that I just do not care about the safety of others or self, and will risk that to make it on time. Just because others are driving recklessly fast, does not give you a free pass to drive that way as well. Set the example and drive responsibly. The pattern of behavior can follow various aspects of that individuals actions. Could be in a hurry to get the work completed on our project. The safety training mentioned in some of the reviews needs applied and reestablished with their employees. The insurance company would be interested as well. That is how premiums go up. Excellent SERVICE! Nowadays, it is SO HARD to find companies that do what they say and EXCEED expectations! I came home the other day to a beautifully manicured lawn and landscaping - what a stress relief! I asked and they OVER- delivered!

As a former employee it is unprofessional seeing the gentleman driving the Prius on his phone while driving.

Was late by 4 minutes because of rain and being sick (I have asthma) was told I wouldn't get the job on the spot.

No I will not reapply to a company that discriminates against future workers, people with disabilities ect. This answers my question why was this job free. Because you value business over your employees.
4 minutes is not even enough time to end the world with nukes. Yet you had such poor time management you had NO time buffer built in. If I ever reapply I will walk out of the interveiw on the spot the momment my conditions are not agreed to.
You apologizing for wasting my time so you can possibly get me edit my review shows where your priorities are.fixing your existing problems not preventing future ones.

The team from Grunder is always professional and courteous. They do exceptional work. Never hurried and no shortcuts. I would highly recommend them!
