Hampton Inn Columbus-East reviews
18The first room I was put in the shower drain was clogged. Front desk said no one was on staff until the next day which was checkout so they gave me another room instead. I was happy with the second room until I saw the bathroom. The shower had black spots and the ceiling looked like it had been poorly patched up. I was in a rush so started the shower and that drain was clogging as well so I took all my things back to my car went to my event and drove back to Michigan right after the event. Definitely will not be back.
Pushy housekeeping.they knock a full hour before check out time and then wait at your room and continue to knock till you leave
Omg so gross. Walked in late at night to garbage on the floors everywhere, elevator was filthy, got to our room and someone had just smoked a big joint in there and it wreaked. Promptly went back down and asked for a refund and left for another Hampton that was beautiful. Sad. Kind lady at the desk though, she felt bad. We were Not rude, just left, wasn’t her fault.
The beds are very uncomfortable, I now have back pain and the pillows are far behind. Room had a musty smell but I expect that in a standard hotel with ac units. The rooms have thin walls you can hear doors slamming in the early morning so no sleeping past 7.
Great one night accomodations.desk clerk needs some training. Waited an inappropriate amount of time to be checked in while he was on the phone to tech support
Not up to Hampton Inn usual standards. We booked two rooms, 122/124,122 had bed bugs. We were told there would be no charge for room 122 and the manager would contact us.both turned out to be false. We were charged full price for the room and no one returned our calls to speak to the manager. The hotel is outdated and has an odd smell, the a/c was noisy and the satellite connection very poor. I would not stay in this Hampton Inn again.
3 YEARS LATER! I happened to see this response to my review and must say you certainly use creative responses to challenge a poor review! It's interesting that the clerk on duty CONFIRMED the bed bug and immediately disposed of said bed bug outside while we waited at the desk. NO ONE smoked (POT or cigarettes) in our party in either room at anytime during our ONE night stay. One can only hope in the over 3 years since our stay, the manager has been replaced by a more responsible, mature individual that does not have to resort to lying about a guest. I stand by my original review, EL Richmond, Virginia
Perhaps you have my review confused with another poor review about your hotel Our rooms were 122 and 124. I'm not sure why Room 237 is included in the response to my review?
Good. Everything you'd expect from a Hampton. Super small fitness center, though. One treadmill and it was out of order.
First and foremost they had Bed bugs.
Also just out dated and the carpet was dirty enough for me to see it on my feet.
AC not working properly. Room was 75 even though I had it set at 67 all night.
Feels grimy.
We made plans around the pool. First morning when pool was supposed to open they put in chemicals so it didn't open till later in day after we were supposed to be at a surprise party we drove in for. Then 2nd morning before we leave went to take a shower before 4 hr car ride and no hot water. I had 2 rooms and pretty much why we stayed here was useless to us won't be staying here again. For what we got would have been better of at a knights inn.
Hotel looked dated. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good minus the one lady who kept talking to the entire room at 8 am for some reason. Ugh I just wanna eat lady.
ALL of that was good tho. Why my review is a 2, is cause I left with chigger bites all over my waist, and possibly bed bugs. Called back 2 days later, they denied it. Stayed in room 126,10/15/22.
Reserved two rooms on first floor.musty smell upon entering both rooms.black mold found in both bathrooms. We were awakened by a cockroach in our bed at midnight. Called front desk- no other rooms available-and offered refund. With all other hotels in the area booked for the night we awoke our family and drove THIRTY MINUTES to the next available hotel with two rooms- Canal Winchester Hampton- which cost much, much more! We booked this stay well in advance for our family trip to Ohio’s Paw Paw Festival. It was ruined! Hilton Honors members for over 30 years. This is unacceptable!
Shabby for a Hampton Inn. Bed uncomfortable. Grout in shower mildewed. Very noisy. Location good, just off I70. Lots of restaurants nearby.
Nice and clean hotel had a great stay. Great location with couple of restaurants around and also few fast food chains. They do serve pumpkin spice waffle and have organic boiled eggs. Staff is great and very helpful and of course bottled water is always free.
Room smelled like mold and another guest also said same thing. My sister and I both have respiratory health condition and she left wheezing and runny nose. The stairwell smelled awful too. The fitness center running machine only had one speed… walk at 1 mph. But the staff was pleasant.
We absolutely LOVED the room. Beds were great. Pillows were lovely. Amenities were great. I especially liked the up-lighting over the wardrobe and desk.
My *ONLY* problem. With this hotel is that it is advertised as pet friendly, which it is, but the pet fee is $75. That's MUCH higher than the industry standard and not exactly "pet-friendly. " I understand that it could have been found in the small print if I'd looked carefully enough, but it was a rude shock on check in. That's as much as a pricey overnight kennel.
Again, the hotel is fabulous. My *only* gripe is a much-higher-than-industry-standard pet fee that isn't clearly advertised.
Pros: Staff was very kind and friendly.
The person who ran the breakfast kept it immaculate and was a delight! The rooms were very clean.
Cons: The fitness center, if you call it that. The treadmill did not work.
The WORST is the moldy smell from the air conditioner! Another guest and I got into a discussion and said their room was the same.
My sister and I have chronic respiratory problems. We were considering a 3rd nite but nope. Now neither of us feel well today.
Bed was very uncomfortable, Food was only passable and much of the furnishings were old and worn (fabric on the chair in room had the pattern completely worn off on the arm.
Room was super clean, along with other facilities including the breakfast area and pool. We went to the pool 4 days in a row and had it all to ourselves every time we went! Staff was always friendly and helpful. The location was great, near a ton of restaurants, shops and highway. I would def recommend staying here if your looking for a clean, affordable place to lay your head!
