We tried this pool for the first time today. I did not see the cleaning/sterilizing taking place every 20 minutes like it said on the website to ensure safety. I saw a lifeguard once walk by 1 bench and spray it and keep walking. We were there for 2 hours and never once saw anyone wipe down the hand rails for the slide or anything else (we planned on staying longer, but felt the need to leave).
Also, some teenagers were throwing a football in the large grassy area where people were sitting/laying out.throwing it over their heads (and our heads). A tiny girl (maybe 4 years old) got hit with the football in the back.and the teenagers proceeded to keep going.no employee from the pool stopped them or asked them to move to a place where there were no people. A guy in a blue work shirt providing ice to the lifeguards (possibly a manager?) was watching them and never said a word). Kids were hanging from the shaded picnic area awning and using that area as a jungle jim. I'm all for kids having a good time.but there are some things that need to be wrangled and controlled for the sake of injuries and respect for others who have paid for entry! We will not ever be returning. It was not an enjoyable experience!

Prices are great. Pool hours are great. There could be some updates since nothing seems to have changed since the pool opened about 30 years ago. It's time to add some modern poolside tables with umbrellas and maybe some kiddie slides. I watched as a couple of the young female lifeguards became quite distracted by young Male admirers and felt as though they needed to pay more attention to the small children in the pool. However, the pool is a really nice place for kids.

Aside from the conditions of the restrooms and not having a decent changing/locker room, not bad for a fairly rural area public pool.

Nice, clean pool. The slide has been out of order so far this season, so that's been disappointing. They do not take cards and told me they won't accept a check, even though the YMCA does.

Completely horrible. You're not allowed to bring your own cooler in, they MAKE you buy their food. If your children require a floaty or life vest they're not allowed to wear them. I will never come back here again. I do NOT recommend this pool to anybody

We left very upset today from Galion swimming pool after spending $15 and only being able to swim literally for 30 minutes! We honestly didn't know the pool was closing in 30 minutes after our arrival time. I think it was very rude of the young girl at the window collecting the money to not be courteous enough to let us know that they were about to close after seeing that we were paying for a family of 5! She pointed out that the hours were on the window 2 feet above my head with 5 other more signs to mix it with. I think all the teens that work there first need some training on good customer service and how to be more helpful and polite. Maybe it was my fault for not thinking of looking up and looking at the open hours, which is also crazy that on a super hot Summer day they close at 5pm! But open until 7 every day of the week! Anyway, people arriving late, I would've let them known the closing time within the hour. Just for courtesy.

This local attraction is a popular summer location when the days get hot. The diving board, the twisty slide, and the kiddie pools provide access for all age and swimming skill ranges. Plus, the covered seating allows for enjoying the outdoors while in the shade.
