Hickory House Restaurant reviews
19I went to Hickory House to get my Tuesday meal as usual. Meal was perfect. But what was the most outstanding part was a staff member (young man with a noticeable mustache had seen. I dropped some money in the lobby as I was walking out. This person actually came out to my car and returned the money to me. This happened at the E. Main restaurant in Reynoldsburg. I don’t know his name. But this shows they have excellent staff along with there great food.
This place definitely has an old school vibe but the food is really good and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Service is always friendly and chatty. Tried their Crown flight for $10 and they had several other flights to choose from around that price point. If you're looking for a good steak and plenty of food, I highly recommend.
The food was great…. Something I was happy to pay for! Our waitress has been there a long time and so have most of the cooks. That’s what makes this place really good, and they still do all the sauces by hand and fresh. I love the history and the years behind at all, and I respect a master of their craft. Bless you all.
Was in town for work craving BBQ. Went with the waitresses recommendation of the meatloaf which was fantastic. First timers get a sample of their ribs which were also fantastic. Came back the next night for the ribs lol highly recommend
The food is great.ill.just make simple as that the best steaks ever the bread hot and fresh.yo can't go wrong eating here.
Service was great and the food was excellent. I had Salmon and my husband had the Haddock. Quality and the cook was very good.
We had the fillet, grilled shrimp and ribs. Everything including the sides were great. Drinks were also good. Had an issue getting seated by the grumpy dark haired lady and sat in the bar instead. But overall we had a great time.
The salad was great
But the porterhouse tasted awful.
And what is up with the Mac and cheese? Stoffers is better, blech.
Will never go again, what a shame.
The food was good enough and the beer selection was serviceable. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because the atmosphere is extremely dated, it feels like this place is stuck in 1995 and refusing modern design elements.
Don't give to many 5 stars but this place deserves nothing less
Nothing more to say
The Original on E Maine St Reynoldsburg
We had 8 folks so were in the back which explains the atmosphere rating. The food was delicious - folks had the fish & chips, the club, several salads, and French dip.
Hickory House is ALWAYS amazing for your dinner spot date night. I went for lunch because I knew the Gahanna location was a great lunch spot that I ate at weekly. Reynoldsburg is not good for steaks at lunch. My partner got the rueben and French onion soup.nailed it! So, Reynoldsburg for date night and Gahanna for lunch. I have been eating here for 30 years and I won't stop.
Ribs, sirloin, shrimp were delicious. Baked sweet potato with cinnamon brown sugar butter was awesome. Friendly host and servers.
Has definitely gone downhill in the past year. Very sad, as this was a favorite. Reynoldsburg location.
Wife had mushroom burger and side salad, which looked great and she enjoyed.
I had haddock platter and baked potato which were delicious.
The service was good.
I took my husband for a steak dinner last night. Both are steaks were rare and we ordered them medium. That’s not the bad experience. It was that the waiter who dropped our food off and never came back to check on us for 40 minutes. We told him what happened with the steaks and he said nothing just dropped the check with us and walked away. We have went to the hickory house Year after year and never had this bad of an experience
Food was pretty good, nothing that really wowed us. Service was very friendly and attentive!
The food was ok, a little cool though. I was upset with the creme brulee, a true creme brulee is about an inch thick with a beautiful crisp layer of sugar hearted by a torch. It came in a bowl and was roughly about 2"-3" thick. It was like pudding someone threw a little bit of sugar in and then heated it in a microwave. The food was ok, the staff was awesome
Their signature bbq ribs were amazing, deserved the winning reward title. The meat was juicy and soft, falling off the bone when my fork touched it and melting in my mouth. The bbq sauce was also perfect, not too sweet or tangy. The salad was also impressive with crispy noodles and honey mustard. The service was friendly and the place was warm.
