Hidden Lakes Family Campground, Montville OH

Was leary of going here based on previous reviews however, this campground is beautiful. The spots are very spacious and the grounds were very well kept, the lake/pond front camping is awesome as well. The bathrooms were immaculate and the staff was friendly. Star gazing was fun and my daughter loved the Saturday night tractor ride. The ponds have very big large mouth bass as well.
The wood policy kind of stinks and I understand the radio policy. At $12/bundle, I do believe that is a terrible price as I harvest wood for myself and to heat my home. I spent $48 on firewood for the weekend. I do believe you should adjust your prices or go to a saw mill for slab wood that is very cheap and great to burn outdoors. That is the only downfall. It would not stop me from returning. It's one of the nicest privately owned campgrounds I've ever been too. We enjoyed our stay.

Decided to take my girlfriend camping for the first time this weekend. It was by far one of the cleanest nicest campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at. The campground at night was very peaceful and quiet making it perfect to enjoy nature. The site was huge with plenty of room to make it our own. The staff was friendly and helpful in making it the best possible experience. The bathrooms were incredibly clean with beautiful wood work. I cant say enough positive things about this campground and how well it’s run. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway to unwind with your significant other or family this is the place to stay. We’re already looking to book a site for next season. Oh and the ponds and lakes were beautiful scenery with massive fish and were kept up nicely especially for August and September heat! Thanks again for the stay!

I love it here. The bathrooms are the cleanest I've seen, the showers are amazing, only thing is it is well water so it has a funny smell to it, but I always enjoy my time here! GREAT PLACE TO UNWIND AND RELAX!

Super family friendly and clean. It was quiet and great for the kids. We can't wait to come back. We wish we could have stayed longer.

This is the second time coming out and we love it. There is plenty of things to do on the campground and off site. The people are all friendly. If I ever buy a trailer I would definitely look into parking for the summer until then I will keep tent camping at our favorite site.

We LOVED it. We came with 7 kids and it was perfect. This campground is extremely family and kid friendly. It was clean, safe, quiet, and fun. The best part is the swimming hole, but watch out for Billie-Bob the fish that lives under the warf. Haha. The second was the tractor wagon ride around the property. It was a BALST. Thank you. We hope to return!

We didn't spend a lot of time at the campground but I wish we could have. A pool, a swimming lake, 2 fishing lakes, large picnic pavilions with charcoal grills, very clean bathrooms with hot water and showers. The cleanest porta potties for those late night bathroom trips I've ever seen and a little camp store in case you forgot some things and great fire wood. This campground was only 13 minutes from the Great Lakes Medieval Faire we went to for a very reasonable price. Hopefully we can stay again for the Faire next year.

Great family campground. We had a wonderful shaded tent site right on the lake. Staff was friendly and helpful at all time.

Great place to relax and enjoy nature. Service was excellent! Highly recommend this campground. Will definitely be back!

I’m giving it a 2 star because I honestly don’t appreciate being lied to. The site was nice, the fishing was ok, but the firewood policy is an absolute joke and they’re absolutely rude about it. It’s their rule, not the ODNR’s rule like they claim which I’ll be speaking with the DNR about this week. They make you pay $12 for one of their bundles, mine had a whole 9 pieces at $1.33/ea, and claim it’s because they’re protecting their trees but they’re bringing in outside wood chips which they are actually asking for on their sign at the end of the driveway and judging by the dual tire tracks next to their log pile it appears that they’re actually having “outside” firewood brought in to sell. It’s a total scam and we will take our business elsewhere, which is a shame because otherwise the place wasn’t bad.

There was nothing respectful about the way you handled it. You yelled over top of me while I was talking to “drop my trailer and get it out of there”. We didn’t see it on the website and I was the one who packed the truck and I didn’t receive any emails since my girlfriend booked the site. It was just a mistake which I would have corrected whether you screamed at us or not. The picture I posted is of your sign, correct? So what the difference between outside wood chips and outside wood? This completely negates your claims if saving your trees. No assumptions there.

We found a gem! Staying here was a happy little accident. We made a reservation at a different park with a similar name. Being unfamiliar with the area, we put “Hidden Lakes Family Campground” into our GPS and drove to this location. Upon arrival, we discovered our mistake. The woman in the front office was very accommodating. Even though the office was closed, she made us reservation to stay the night. The grounds were delightful! It felt so peaceful and remote in the park. Our kids were ecstatic about the swimming lake and spent several hours wading and swimming! We wished we had fishing poles because there were two fishing lakes as well. We wish we could have spent more time here! It was a little slice of heaven.

This is one on the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at from over 200. We've traveled over 17,000 miles in the last year from Alaska to SanDiego, Miami, and now the Cleveland area. PROS: Great price, friendly staff, huge sites, fishing, swimming, well maintained. CONS: No sewer on sites

Second or third time tent camping here. Love it! Such a relaxing weekend! Grounds, shower house, and out houses are super clean. Staff is wonderful and put so much work into it! Can’t wait to go back!

This was our first time at this campground. It was so peaceful and our kids had a blast! The pool was very nice looking (a little chilly yet as it was memorial day weekend, but that didn't stop our 7 yr old). The fishing pond was very nice. They also had a swimming pond which all of our kids enjoyed. Several hiking trails nearby - girdled road and the observatory were the two we checked out. Will be coming back!
