Hocking Hills Diner reviews
19I absolutely loved this place. Small town diners are my favorite. Everyone was so nice and they treat you like a friend the moment you walk in the door. My husband and I enjoyed it so much that we pretty much ate here every day of our trip. Breakfast is amazing. I love that their home fries are sliced potatoes instead of those wierd little squares that other restaurants serve. Everything tastes just like Grandma's cooking. Their BLT is perfect. My husband cannot stop thinking about their chicken salad sandwich. We were both sad that our trip was over and we will definitely be back when we visit the Hocking hills region again.
What a Gem! I had a Great meal and Wonderful service Amazing people! Such Great service and I definitely will be back again sooon! Love & Light, Jillie ️
I stopped here because of the reviews. The hostess was not welcoming and borderline rude. The waitress was fine. I ordered a BLT, extra crispy home fries and sausage gravy. The toast was burnt, and I had to request another set of toast to remake my sandwich since they would not make it right. They then charged me for the toast. When they asked how everything was, they admitted the toast was burnt and said some people like it that way. They did offer to take the drink off my bill lol.the drink was fine. I paid the complete bill and will not be returning. Really, how do you let burnt toast be used on a sandwich unless the customer requests crispy/burnt toast and it was black. The potatoes were OK. The gravy did not have any sausage even though I ordered sausage gravy, it was really bland and required quite a bit of pepper.
Great food. Do not go to that gross place in the plaza! This was a normal, clean diner to eat in Hocking Hills. They have some country/local options. But also a good selection of common breakfast and lunch foods. Kids loved it.
Had heard good things from reviews; however we were a little disappointed. Had a decent breakfast with breakfast bowl and Susie scramble but lunch entree of chicken strips was less desirable. Strips were very small and was ground chicken rather than filets. Portion size was more like a child's. Service was lacking as they barely came around to ask about refills for coffee. Bathrooms could use an update also. Would likely try another diner in the future
We stopped here on the way home
from staying at a cabin. We did start without getting menus and drinks for quite some time. However, it was busy and they were doing the best they could. We had no issues with the food. It was great! The banana bread was amazing. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We will come back for a visit again.
We came there twice. The second time was definitely a rush hour. The food is delicious. I enjoyed my meatloaf the first time. The servers were very nice but they got our order wrong because the place was full.
But overall it was great and a highlight of our trip to Hocking hills
Stopped in for some breakfast as it was located near the high school. Ordered steak and eggs. Was cooked great along with some solid homefries and toast. Honestly everything looked great and probably not a bad choice on the menu
Visited the restaurant on a Sunday early afternoon! Asked to be seated outside since we had our dog with us. We read other reviews that they are dog friendly. We got sat down and asked for our drink order. After 10-12 mins of waiting for our drinks, my fiancé went in and asked for them. They finally brought them out 15 mins after being seated. They got our order and it didn’t seem like too long of a wait for our food. The food was okay but very expensive for what it is. Didn’t get our rolls with the dinner and had to ask for coleslaw, ketchup, and tarter sauce. For us two and our dog (which he got some patties), it was $53 before tip. I’d recommend going somewhere else if you’d like better service and better quality of food!
We like to stop at the Hocking hills diner for breakfast when we are heading to Columbus. It is a nice little diner with a lot of breakfast options and different specialty coffees. I got the cafe de orleans and the hill buster which is 2 eggs, home fries, a biscuit all cover in sausage gravy. My husband got an omelet. We have tried many different breakfast items and everything is always good.
The food here is excellent! Such a great selection, we will definitely come back for more. We tried the cinnamon roll pancakes and holy moly those are decadent! And we also tried the eggs Benedict, our first time ever eating this dish and it was amazing. Portions are perfect size. The cappuccinos are also delicious. Try it out if you're in the area!
Quaint little place in Hocking Hills. Weird location (attached to a warehouse) but charming on the inside. Food was fabulous. Coffee was good. Our kiddos loved the hot chocolate and the cinnamon roll pancakes. Hubby adored the Hillbilly Omlet. I had biscuits and gravy and we all agreed the gravy was fantastic! Will be visiting again soon!
Took a little long for the hostess to seat us at a non busy time, but our waitress was great and the food was pretty damn good
Food was excellent cook was on! Great job man. As for wait staff they were way to concerned on there drama in staff area. Got one cup of coffee at sit down 3/4 cup at that then my second cup after meal. I'd been better off self serving myself and wife. Like good food but horrible service that's the place to go
Nice down home feel, friendly and darling staff and fod is just like Grandma use too make.
Server was really nice, she made sure you had what you needed drinks ex… food wasn’t the best but was ok food prices kinda high for what it is.
My boyfriend and I were on vacation and looking for a good affordable breakfast. When we saw our favorite, Eggs Benedict, was on the menu, we knew we had to try it. This place is fantastic! Cute decor and very clean. The staff is so warm, personable, and attentive. The food was wonderful! Our poached eggs were fluffy and runny, and the hollandaise was bright and creamy. When we were telling the girl at checkout to give the cook our compliments, she said it was only one woman back there due to a call off. She was killing it! Kudos to the AM cook, she’s a rock star!
Business has changed since last visit. Kind of pricey now. Good portions but not as I remembered
Service was good but the food was terrible. The only saving grace was the oatmeal cookies we got to go.
