I love working here I can work while my kids are in school and still be home in time for them. And the clients are amazing everyday I learn something knew from them.

In August of 2019 I retired and wanted to do something to continue to work with seniors. When I learned about Home Instead Senior Care in Elyria, I made a call and was interviewed the next day. Janelle and I had an enjoyable time during the interview and she lined up me to get my papers filled out, background check, and car insurance info. After new hire training, this 70+ woman was off and running and I have enjoyed every bit of my time with the Home Instead Senior Care franchise (Lorain County Senior Care). Owner Karin Kollar and her staff have been amazingly supportive. CAREgivers are treated with respect and appreciation. They provide incentives, birthday & anniversary recognitions, and are generous with bonuses and thank you gifts. The company considers client needs and CAREgiver's strengths before they send someone to a new home. There have been a number of CAREgivers that have recently been recognized for 10 years of service. I started too late for that to be a goal, but I do plan to continue to work for Home Instead as long as I am able. It give me such joy! I have attached a picture of my very first client. His daughter-in-law took it and his son gave me permission to use it.

I am the community liaison for a skilled home health care company and often times the patients that we have on service for nursing and therapies are also in need of extra help that we cannot provide as a Medicare certified agency. When this happens, our staff will initiate a conversation regarding bringing in another company that can provide companion care for these individuals so that they can remain at home safely while recuperating and we always reccomend Home Instead as our first choice. Obviously, there are many other agencies available but we prefer Home Instead because of the training that they provide to their caregivers and the feedback that we get from them regarding our mutual patients. It is a win-win for everyone; the patient does well at home, we have better outcomes with our services and the families are happy!
