Hueston Woods Trailblazer Dining Room, College Corner OH

My husband and I both ordered the New York strip steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steaks were so chewy and hard to cut through, the potatoes tasted like instant, and the broccoli was so overcooked. We made reservations and were seated immediately, but waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive. That wouldn't be an issue if the food would have been amazing. We go to Hueston Woods a few times a year and will stick with the pizza.

Wow! Blown away! The attention to detail and the food were wonderful. We had such a great time, we tipped the server 50%.

We new the storm was coming but the power outage was a bit of a surprise. That being said IT TOOK AN HOUR AND A HALF to get extra blankets it should not have taken that long to he boys were scared wouldn't let me leave them so my Mom had to find her way to the front desk and request blankets. Other than that great food and service always our favorite place to be around the holidays enjoying the pool good food and family. We will be back and looking forward to it.

Stayed in a cabin, but ate at the restaurant. Food was delicious, service fast, staff friendly.

We have visited The Trailblazer dining room several times over the years, and the experience has been, well, mixed. I would like to say I like coming here because of the environment. Nothing nicer than a park lodge setting; it is really very beautiful. And the lodge itself is nicely appointed.

The food is inconsistent, at best. Today I ordered an omelette with ham and American cheese. I am not sure these are "real" eggs. The egg part itself was pretty dry and papery. There were a lot of tiny bits of ham inside, but the cheese was all but nonexistent. My husband could not find the cheese in his western omelette, either. They were 3-egg omelettes, and I don't think anyone needs a 3-egg omelette. But it was the only choice available. The bacon side order was plentiful, but very much on the burned side. The toast was dry, and we had to ask for butter. The side of potatoes that came with the meal were, I think, pre-packaged/pre-cooked and they just, perhaps, took out portions and microwaved them. At least they were not hot throughout and they, too, were burned. These are the same potatoes they have served for years. They would do well to change the menu a bit in that regard. Honestly, everything was pretty dry and laid a bit heavy on my stomach. At over $40 for a breakfast for 2, it was not worth it.

I think eating here is a nice experience, given the large fireplace and lodge/park atmosphere, but the food is really hit-or-miss. Today was a miss.

The food was okay. I don't think anything is cooked there though. My guess is they have a catering service and they're just heating things up. The water is awful! And that goes for anything made with their water (tea, coffee, and even coke products made from mixing syrup with their water). Don't order any beverage not served from a sealed bottle.

They charged their fish to Sea bass but did not change on the menu. It did not taste good at all. We had it many times in the past and knew right away something was off.

Every meal is amazing and the service even better than the last 20 times I have enjoyed this home away from home.

The breakfast buffet was delicious. I really loved the made to order omelet. Our waitress was on point an overall wonderful experience.

Been there many times since 1988. Always feel at home and love the somewhat rustic and historical ambience of the place. The menu is expanded this year and most entries were delicious. I highly recommend the Maple Glazed Salmon or the Brisket. Not a fan of the Pork Chop or Pot Roast. Both were dry, over cooked and tasteless. They might have been redeemed with a little seasoning, better sear and less cooking time but who knows. Our waiters we're very courteous and aimed to please. Had several wine servers and the young women on Tuesday (June 14,2022) was excellent. The rest of the week we had two different middle aged women who basically came out, poured out wine in glasses, slapped them down on the table and ran off. No taste offer, banter or hello.

Well, there is alot to share about my experience.my two daughters used to work there.they were both minor's they got worked past nine pm and when one of my daughter's were not working at the time.we were guests eating there and the buster raven that is a girl that works there said hey what's up loser.my fiance was like what did you say and she walked off.we talked to someone about it and still other coworkers breaks glasses and drops the f- word alot Infront of other customers that have little kids with them.their conversations you can hear out in the dining room.

We at there for mothers day lunch.

It was a buffet! Although it was a buffet, they had some surprisingly really good food. All the meats were tender as they should be.

We come to Hueston Woods almost every weekend and know almost every employee and love the food, and sit inside to watch over the lake and boats and birds!

Simply amazing. One of the best state parks you will ever find with amenities, dinning, views, and exploring that will keep you coming back for years!
