Island Frydays reviews
17 Nope! Thank goodness my nephew (5yrs old) ate my food because I would be so salty. The 10 mintues that I waited must've been just for drama because this food taste bland like Becky & Ben cooked it.
They are stingy too. If I wanted to beg for rice I would've went to Chipotle.
If you want Jerk chicken go to Sene Grill, Teranga or another West Afrikan restaurant near you. You'll get more food for less money. The Yassa fish meal & soups with rice & fufu (Afrikan restaurants) are my favorites.
Horrible… drove far, paid for parking, waited for the longest for my food and the order was incomplete and was told there was nothing they could do about it. So they robbed me in my face
I like the food and so does my family. When ordering you have to stand outside and order through a window. The menu is a little confusing and portion sizes are okay. Also, they may be out of certain food items and they only serve certain food items on certain days! The people working here are friendly and parking is okay. I do recommend! Update: The lady taking orders at the window is not that friendly and also food is way too expensive for sidewalk food!
Very rude horrible customer service. People are always lined up on the street and no worker ever come out to address anyone about their orders. They don’t greet no one and it’s just overall the worst service I’ve ever seen the food is ok it’s not so good that the workers need to not greet anyone especially the people who is paying to keep this business in business
Enjoyed an order of Jerk chicken cheese fries. They are delicious every time. I like that my order comes with a drink. I always tell them to surprise me with the flavor since everything they serve is delicious, you can't go wrong.
We ordered online. I ordered whiting and my husband jerk.chicken The rice taste like and reminds me of boil in bag rice did not resemble anything close to jamaican rice and peas. The chicken was not jerk it was boiled with seasoning. We paid for extra jerk sauce and did not receive. We are from Chicago so we typically receive jerk on the side and bread. Honestly, the only good thing about the meal was the Plaintains and rapid service.
No atmosphere bc lunch was order thru a locked window and wait for the food outside. But it was authentic and delicious, recommend curry shrimp and jerk chicken dinner. Flavorful and true to Jamaican spices.
A 'turn-off' to have to order and receive your food on the streetside like this! No dining in since covid for whatever reason (sign on door) but they could still allow customers inside to order/pick up food. Lack decency and respect to customers having to stand on the street! Tasteless in my opinion. I wasn't interested in the food after realizing this but my Son bought a meal.
Travel there from Indiana for my anniversary. Well we get there n I try to go in. I’m an amputee with a prothesis n was told the dining area is closed n u have to order at the window! I looked at the website several times n it nvr said u couldn’t eat inside! My husband did the ordering n they didn’t have no red snapper like the menu said. So I had to settle for whiting fish n it was under season.the only thing I enjoyed from here was the pineapple tea in which I’m sure I can make at home! So we had to eat our meal in the heat in the car…how romantic if I would had known this I would went other places!
Absolutely immaculate! Can taste the passion in the food. Service was A1. Great portion size. All around a worthy experience. Curry chicken was tender and juicy! Beef patties flaky and flavorful. Yess!
This use to be my favorite Jamaican food spot.over time the food quality has changed. The wings get drier and drier. I am not sure if I'm going at a bad time, but my wings are not at all juicy and it tastes and feels like it was heated up from days ago. I think this is my last time coming here as this is the third time in a row that i didn't enjoy my expensive food. Very disappointed.
Just like the food back home! Big flavor, larger portions, and one of the best jamaican spots i’ve ever tasted
Great Jamaican food and excellent service. But they're still on a to-go service schedule that started at the height of COVID 19 days.
That pasta that pasta that pasta mmm mmm mmmmmm sooo good, the jerk wings are to die for very tender fall off the bone and melts in your mouth, I will literally eat island Friday everyday.
We ordered at the restraint and waited about 15 mins.
Chicken tasted really good.however we were vary displeased on the the price for what he got.
Our rice and beans had like 3 beans in it vary small portion amount.
And the salmon cheese fries.
Not at all worth $13 unfortunately only was salmon and cheese.
For 14 could have added some onions hot peppers just made it worth it is all I'm saying.
I hope they up their game I would have really enjoyed it.
This is the best authentic Jamaican food that I have had stateside. I haven't had Jamaican food this good since visiting Jamaica. The jerk wings were FALL OFF THE BONE good and seasoned to perfection. The cabbage was delicious and so were the rice and peas. When I visit Cincy again, I will be back. The lady with the locs at the window (she had an accent) she was nice and patient. I couldnt decide what to order because it was my 1st time.thank you for being patient. Sometimes people in service can be rude but not the case with her.
Their food isn't pretty good, it's Amazing. I went to a different bbq place and he said they were the best in the state. Nope, islands Friday's is. 5 star
