Island MetroPark reviews
27I had my cousins celebration of life here in July after she passed. It was good, a little busy but good. No problems.
It's the closest park to my home. It is where my younger three children learn how to ride their bikes. I have been teaching Capoeira at this location during the Spring/Summer Season. Yes the classes are FREE.
They have several events and 5K runs here throughout the year. It is only a mile and a half south of Wegerzyn Gardens and a mile and a half north of Deeds Point Park. It is one block North of Kettering fields. It's central location makes it ideal.
There are several bbq pits for rent. They have a round path one can use for jogging or bicycling.
They have trails for the family to enjoy water play area for kids multiple pay areas for kids plenty of shelters and grills for family get togethers and party's etc. They also have a stage for small concerts and local performances
Very nice park with plenty of river access points for fishing or kayak/canoe dropping. They have a great walk path as well.
Beautiful place well kept and friendly people not a bad place to take the kids or walk your dog.
This was my first time here. It's a very cool park in the way it's set up and connects to the neighboring park via a bridge over the river. There are lots of shelters that can be reserved. A playground for small kids. There is a paved pathway to walk around the park.
It took me a while to realize that this MetroPark was here since I tend to stay south of the city, but when I came across I had to check it out. Maybe not the most up-kept park in the MetroPark system, but still a great spot to go for a walk along the short loop around the island. Plus, there's a really neat bridge crossing the water to the west of the island. Lots of open space, lighting on the path for when it's dark, it's a great spot to go for a walk.
Was a great time there at Island park with my family reunions we had there was nice great day good son Good Vibes and love
Food was awesome, good service. Average cocktails, keylime pie was a solid 7 the closest I've had to keylime pie in the keys.
It's a well kept and nice scenic park for the family. There are places to fish, play areas for the kids, a bridge over the river, shelters, grills, etc. It has probably been over 15 years since I've been there, but I was impressed with how nice it looked. I took the kids with me and we all had a good time. We even had fun running to and under the bridge to stay dry when a small rain shower passed over that was about three minutes long while we were walking the paths around to the other side lol.
Recovery Picnic and free concert from the Voices of Fellowship highlights the atmosphere and strengthens community awareness and relationships.
This place used to be very open, beautiful and Serene. But sinceThey built a cage up around the playground, it just feels like another Urban hellscape.
I was totally blown away over cleanliness of, also smelled bleach which made me know you sanitized the water area. The young girl U had working there was very pleasant & alert to her surroundings. Over all I was tremendously happy. Thank u 4 having such a great place 4 children & families 2 go 2. Sorry, that was my 1st visit but I will return next year.
My buddy and I go fishing a bunch and have been fishing the still water a bunch lately and sometimes we go all the way down to Island MatroPark and get out of the water here. It is a pretty nice spot compared to the surrounding area.but the park is nice and the water is beautiful. Caught most of these about a 1/4 of a mile up stream from Island Park!
There is literally a party or family get together here everyday! The splash park is the best and it's a wonderful place to make new friends.
The Black Cultural Gospel Fest was great! A great music, good food and great people! Just what the Gem City needed!
A good place to walk and sit down if you need too, also the kids will love the water park area.nothing like a healthy walk.
This is a very beautiful place to visit. The playground for the kids has all kinds of things to play with. The high fence around it provides protection for the kids and a piece of mind for the parents. The bathroom is close to the playground. It is one of the cleanest bathrooms in a community park that I have been in. The amphitheatre adds to the excitement. There are plenty of trails to walk or bike ride on. It is kayaking or canoeing friendly. Fishermen can have fun here as well. This place i must explore some more. Feel free to head over and enjoy the beauty in any way that you can.
Great quiet park to enjoy going on walks, see nature, enjoy some time with family or even just to hang out.
A quiet and peaceful place, for outings, music concerts, a small waterpark for adults and children.
