Jans Famous Chili Dogs, Toledo OH

Like other reviews, I have to say the price and quality isn’t there. The hot dogs are ok and although it’s nice they have a mix of toppings, their price is what Tony packos charges and more than netty’s which is much better, both institutions for dogs in my opinion. The ice cream is expensive (along the lines of Handels and Cold Stone) and not as tasty as everywhere else. I understand there’s inflation but they’re higher than everywhere else. If you’re in a rush and it’s convenient I’d go, otherwise go to Nettys or Timbos.

As someone that has traveled extensively since 1995 I can say Jan's is adequate. Nothing really stood out as amazing. The chili dog was ok and the fries were ok.the service was great and everything is very clean. It just doesn't compare to hot dogs I have enjoyed elsewhere.

I ordered 2 Chile dogs n pop corn! I love popcorn from summer Chile n ice cream places! Have not been to Jans this year! But have been to NETTIES! Pop corn fresh n not chewy! Hot dogs where same! Good! Call back to JANs within 25 minutes! N the young VERY RUDE girl (who I tipped) because great to see young people working! WAS SO RUDE to ME! N HUGE UP on me! Ask to talk to manager then she hung up on me! Little did she know my FAMILY! Is a very big deal with reviewing restaurants! N I will make sure this review is all over! I’m 60 years old, n was treated like SH_! N was also told to _ off by some teenager who I treated with respect!

Had a great dog at the Erie St Market from Jan's hot dog kart. Stopped in the Jan's hot dog on central and got moldy hot dog buns! Probably won't be going back!

Generally this is a nice place. Nice people and good food but today we ordered Chilli dogs and when we eat them the hot dogs were not cooked. Not that they were cooked and cooled, but raw. I have eaten there many times and this is the first time so I hope it will be the last. This is why I took one star away. I will return but will stop if I get another raw dog. They are so easily to cook that if they can not do that what about other things like their Chilli Mac. Something else they make that I like.

I got the Jan Chili Dog and a German Chocolate Sundae. The food was really good and the young lady at the window was super nice.

This is a fun little place. We got off the turnpike to get some gas and looked for a local place to grab a quick snack. My wife and I both got chili dogs. My all beef chili dog was better than her regular chili dog. I got a slush, she got a shake and we shared a small popcorn. They were all very good. The young lady that helped us was extremely helpful and very nice. They are worth checking out!

The Owner was EXTREMELY RUDE! AND THE WORKERS RUDE AF! Didn't even speak when I pulled up to order! Had an attitude rushing me! Just drove off!

There hot dogs are great as well, an let's not for get there ice cream there price's aren't that bad either. Yes I'll be going back there soon.

Love the food unfortunately terrible customer service! Very rude to my husband and daughter when they tried to order a smoothie and we're yelled at with a NO. I understand if the machine is broken or something but no need to take it out on the customers. Very disappointing

Plentiful with the toppings. Prices are similar to other area soft serve. Their toppings are premium and not bad generic like some others. They are accommodating to substitutions. Alina is a rockstar!

Three reasons to go here rather than Mr. Freeze on McCord:

1. Clean tables to sit at, shaded.
2. Accepts credit cards
3. Stays open nearly a month longer in the fall.
