Johnson's Real Ice Cream, New Albany reviews
17This is one of my favorite ice cream places in the Columbus area. The flavors are unique but not unexpected. My only real issue is the cost. My family of five rarely spends less than $40 on a single trip.
Cool little ice cream joint. Wasn't busy when we went, was there around 7pm. Many choices of flavors. You can get ice cream in cones, cups, sundaes, and shakes.
Really quick service and their ice cream is delicious. The flavor I got was Raspberry Chip or Blackberry Chip (I think?) And it was very good, creamy, and with chocolate chips added. Didn't feel like a heavy dessert at all!
When comparing to the original Johnson store, this one is sooo small. The ice cream seemed to be better when I was a kid.
LOVED IT. Ice cream is really difficult to mess up and they did not mess up lol. No complaints at all. Went around 7, quick service staff was nice. Place was clean. Grabbed a sundae. Normal icecream prices. Will gladly go back. Better options than Graeters
First visit to this very popular spot. I arrived around 330pm on a Sunday and the line was out the door. They unfortunately only had two employees but they were doing there best to keep up. I ended up getting the moose tracks on a waffle cone and it was worth the wait.
The ice cream is a little expensive, and the cookie dough ice cream doesn’t have as much cookie dough as other ice cream shops. However, they always have good service and they’re in a convenient location in town.
My husband got the most beautiful banana split tonight, I just had to brag on it! And I love the triple vanilla bean ice cream. Great flavors and always great service!
Decent choices, higher prices. Although I would not consider them celiac friendly with the main area (the workers are not knowledgeable is what makes things celiac safe) there are clearly marked gluten free pints in the freezer!
Small private owned shop with excellent ice cream. Service was very good. The shopping center it's in is a very nice place. Recommended for a morning of shopping and ice cream
Literally the best ice-cream bar I have been to- super huge selection of flavours (the smores and blueberry cheesecake flavours were my option) with loads of choices of toppings too, as well as friendly staff made it an absolute pleasure. Also, as someone that struggles with too much dairy, this was not one of them! Would definitely recommend if you are in the area it's worth a visit!
Ohio is truly the land of excellent frozen treats. Our first time stumbling across this gem. Friendly staff and inventive flavors made our trip even nicer.
Yum, I rarely get real ice cream anymore. Ordered the vanilla with pretzels and chocolate. Probably the best ice cream I have had in years!
Ice cream is amazing but hand packed pints need to be packed full. Both had lots of space on sides with no ice cream.
Salted caramel choco. Something or other lol is to die for! Mint chocolate chip = amazing-ness
Funky hours at times but real good ice cream shakes and classics.
You can't beat the price and service.
It's good ice cream. The store is small and they don't have a huge selection of flavors but it's good. No other food options than ice cream though.
