Jolly's Drive-In (East) reviews
19 Everyone loves a good old fashion rootbeer stand. Great place for first time visitors of Hamilton who are looking for unique experience.food is good i recommend the double chill cheese burger and large rootbeer.
The quality of rootbeer had changed slowly and does not seem like the good stuff I had when I was a wee little one. Kind staff and very cool atmosphere. 4 not 5 because price is a little high for what you're getting.
Our last of the season and they were more than generous with the cheese today! Great food as always
Terrific and fast service as always. It's such a hit with my family I picked it up and drove 80 miles home with it! I'm so happy that this is a Hamilton landmark that is still making people happy.
This place is great! I stop every chance that I have. There is only two in the US & both are located in the great state of Ohio.
We have gone to the RB stand (Sharonvile) quiet frequently this year, since it is near by our wholesale club. Ever since they closed the Jolly in Fairfield, it turned into a special occasion when we go to Hamilton. Today was one of those day. It has been years since i have Jolly's, and i was a bit disappointed. Maybe the anticipation is more than the taste.
The footling hotdog with chili and onion sucked. The root beer was warm. Food is not tasty and it is over priced. Chili dog was served in waxedpaper and laid on a stack of napkins. It leaked all over and was a mess to eat. Especially in the car. The "cold mug" of root beer was luke warm and the root beer was flat. Not a good experience!
We love Jolly’s! Old school awesomeness! Always visit when in the area, wish I could go everyday. Best root beer ever! Ice cold glass mugs filled with frosty root beer. Great French fries and the popcorn is tasty!
Yeah my fiancé and I ordered to stay but they still brought us bags anyway and I think we paid to dine in. Hotdogs are really good but the service sucks.
The food was good as usual. But the same problem I have every time I go there. Their fries are always a little bit too hard for me but taste good. Other than that, the food was fine. Service was real good as always. I will still continue going there and I certainly would recommend this place.
Used to love it but it has went downhill over the years. Maybe just the crew getting worse or something. Recently got a footlong and asked for no onion. Got it home and it had some on it, not a big deal just picked them off. But while I was picking them off I noticed some black dirt or something on the inside of the bun AND A HAIR! Wont be back. Ill go to the other one instead.
Watched an employee smoke a cigarette and wipe sweat off his face sitting outside. He then went in to kitchen without changing gloves. I almost threw up
Thank you so much for accommodating our large group of students and giving them a fun field trip during this crazy year. The kids enjoyed the food and root beer. Highly recommend checking out Jolly’s if you haven’t yet.
Me and my lying cheating ex came here all the time! We are lucky and live close (moved]. Food is 10/10 every time. Literally everything is great. Friendly staff. Food comes fairly quick. Prices are outstanding. My favorite restraint hands down.
The chili dog with cheese, relish and onions was good and hot. The root beer was right on time, refreshing. Will stop again when going through Hamilton.
I just happened on this restaurant and found it excellent. Hot dogs and burgers along with apple fritters, root blend brown cows! Busy place and at time I bet you'd be lucky to get a spot. Fast service and the car hops are very friendly.
Carry out only these days. Their prices and food are well worth the stop. We look forward to Jolly's reopening every year. No one else has root beer like Jolly's.
This is a staple in the hamilton community. Its had its doors open to hamilton family's over 75 plus years.if you don't know about jolly's just imagine the old time rootbeer stands that served hotdogs and burgers and fries and onion rings and last but not least the frozen mug (yes frozen glass mug of root beer) that you will dream about all winter until the open back up late January. Sorry but they are seasonal.but when they are in season no more dreaming just stop by and take home a gallon of there famous root beer. And some foot longs for the kids. And hot apple fritters. Ssshhheeewwweeee. If that don't make you dream you haven't been to jolly's yet.it's a hamilton tradition.
It was OK. Fried. Fast food. Clams was OK. Price was OK. I would go past this place next time I'm in the vicinity. But, if a friend wanted to go, I would not be adverse to going. A local chain of stores I believe.
Love this place! I was born and raised in Hamilton. My family would often have the 2 Hamilton/Fairfield staples, Jolly's and Richard's. I live in the Beechmont area now but anytime I'm close to Hamilton, I HAVE to have one or BOTH places. Heck, I've even been known to make the 45 min drive JUST to get them. The rootbeer at Jolly's is my favorite and there is just something about the combo of their chili and cheese on a footlong that is, delicious! If you've never been here, I highly recommend it. It's not a Cincinnati style chili so for those of you who don't like Cincy chili, you don't have to worry about that. And what could be more fun than having a car hop bring your food out to your car and hang the tray on your window. Nostalgia at it's finest!
