Kanji Japanese Steakhouse, Heath OH

Delicious food and skilled chefs, I got a dish with scallops, and a tempura shrimp appetizer and both were excellent. We'll return!

My wife and I love Kanji. We both love the sushi and the hibachi. The service is always good too. But it can be a little pricey. But I think its well worth it

Door dashed for quick lunch. Two different orders came in the same box and sushi did not taste fresh.no silverware or chopsticks. We won't order again.

Great place for birthdays.because it's fun, not that they do anything special for a birthday. Groups of 8 people fill the table nicely. If you come as a couple you'll join up with other small groups at a table.
Lots of laughs and silly trickery while cooking amazing food. Make sure to order the fried rice for the best show. Their egg work is amazing. With a big group, you pretty much individually pick the meat-seafood, beef, chicken, and everyone gets salad, drink, rice, and vegetables. Prices between $12-17.

Wanted something different for dinner and this place delivered on just that. Every employee was a pleasure to speak to and made the evening a blast. The chefs are showman and you can tell they truly love their jobs. It's a little overwhelming if you never been before and everyone was willing to help you figure it out, just ask and they'll do their best to get you what you want. There is absolutely no chance you'll leave hungry, portions are huge and they were giving complimentary meats to try that no one had ordered. Make sure you sit at the hibachi to get the full show.

Large party of 13 for my nephews 16th birthday. We were seated in a private room with 2 chefs. Service was good, chefs did a good job and were personable. Food was good, was not great. It was also a bit expensive. 135 dollars for 2 adults and my 13 year old son that had the kids steak dinner.

EDIT: So. I’ve had an enormous change of heart after actually getting to dine here. We went today (Wednesday) for my birthday! And we were immediately seated, big upgrade from my previous review. Now the food and service gets this place 5 stars for me. Our waitress and our chef were so sweet and helpful, and the food.wow! I can confidently say this is the best hibachi I have been too. The waitress even learned my little sisters name! If you get the chance please eat here.beware of weekends though.

I wish I didn’t have to give this place such a low review, considering I never even got to try the food. They were incredibly unprofessional with how they managed tables and reservations. My family had a reservation for 7pm and when we arrived they informed us that it would be a 30 minute wait which was already disappointing but manageable. However, they were incredibly packed and the wait kept getting pushed back. They were seating walk ins before reservations. A group had a reservation at 6: 30pm and wasn’t sat yet, so we knew that we weren’t going to get in. Not to even mention about how covid mandates were being handled. Multiple people not wearing their masks right were seen and I even saw 2 people without a mask in sight being sat as soon as they walked in. I’m very disappointed in the service, and I wish we caught them at a better moment because I have no doubt the food would have been great.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant since 2012 and never have I been dissatisfied.

I came last month with a large party, and even though I had a reservation, I still had to wait 40 minutes to be seated. But even with this, I cannot rate this restaurant below 5 stars.

In the Newark, Heath, and even Zanesville area, there is no restaurant that offers such a unique atmosphere at Kanji’s. The food and sushi are incredible. Also, they have a good selection of Japanese alcohol to choose from.

If you’ve never eaten here before, I recommend ordering the Steak & Shrimp from the Hibachi chef, the red snapper sushi, and hot sake.

This place is ideal for first dates as well. The entertainment from the Hibachi chef, the atmosphere, and the uniqueness of this restaurant will more than make up for any awkwardness between two unfamiliar people.

Service is really hit or miss here. I asked for a one sauce and the chef told me this isn't Texas Roadhouse. I asked the waiter staff and she literally laughed at me and said something I couldn't understand

Sitting by the grill is always a fun time, the cook's are funny, entertaining, and make sure that everyone is having a good time. Plus the food is always amazing and you always get more than enough food.

Heaths Kanji’s is always a great time. I came here with my b, and they had the grills open again. We got the chillest, dopest grill man. The food. KEY. I love Kanji’s Japanese Steakhouse in Heath, OH.

Kanji is the best Hibachi in town and arguably the area in general. Phenomenal service, great cooks, and a really fun experience!

Came in after church today with my son and a friend, we had a great time and our chef was awesome, our server was as well, ghanks!

Other than a ridiculously long wait, and being lied to several times, about said wait, the food was delicious as usual. And before anyone says anything, yes we did put our name on a wait list, was told originally the wait would be a 1/2 hour, ended up being over 2 hours! By that time it was too late to go anywhere else.

It was an excellent meal, very tasty! Only one complaint.just a little too happy with the salt shaker. I couldn't eat the bean sprouts they were so salty.

Terrible. Ordered shrimp, lobster tail, and dumplings. Shrimp were shriveled up, nowhere near the size shown on the menu, didn't get a lobster tail, instead received 5 bite sized pieces. Dumplings were not seared as they appeared on the menu, and were the most bland dumplings I've ever had. Fried rice was bland also. I spent 50 bucks on the meal and was very disappointed, something told me to order from red lobster where that 50 bucks gets you a satisfying meal. Owner should be ashamed for the price attached to that meal. If you're into seafood like me, don't waste your money at this place!
