Kelleys Island State Park reviews
16The crown jewel of Ohio State Parks. Every year there are impressive improvements. The Park staff is outstanding. The trails are awesome. The dedication of the park manager (Chris Ashley) is second to none. The best of the best.
The park itself is great the restrooms are kept clean. The rangers patrol and provide a feeling of safety and information that hasn't really been present in the last 10 years at other parks. They even rake the entire beach every morning. However, you will be disconnecting and unplugging whether you want to or not. There is NO Verizon signal and very little AT&T signal at the park.
Our visit was very relaxing and enjoyable.
They did a great job updating the glacial groove area. Handicap accessible and added observation decks. Nice getaway.
Great state park especially if you're wanting to camp or glamp. Beautiful views of Lake Erie. Clean & large bathhouse in center of camping area. Plenty to do nearby. Monarch winery is within walking distance from the main camp ground entrance of the park.
Worth the trouble of the ferry. They run frequently enough that it's easy to plan your arrival and departure.
The island has just the right mix of amenities and beautiful natural areas to make it a comfortable place for families or a day trip.
Our favorite area is the old quarry (horseshoe lake as it's called on maps). It's a surreal kind of semi-arid dessert landscape with a lake in the middle - in the middle of lake Erie. Very cool
Clean, quiet, and hiking the North Shore Loop Trail was delightful. The Glacial Grooves weren't open when we visited as erosion control work was being done.
Old structures at odds with more modern conveniences. Like walking through a history book while at the same time interacting with year long Island residents. Great boat ramps and docks. Loved the beach
This is a great place to bring your family. The park is clean the beach is great. We've been coming here for 50 years
Beautiful clean park. Stay on the path if you go hiking poison ivy is brutal. Great beach, nice sites for rvs campers and tents.
I camped for two nights! It was perfect weather and the facilities were great. Easy access to the rest of the island’s food and activities! Watch out for the raccoons!
We go every year we love it. The people are so nice and the very helpful. You need to get there early so you can get a golf cart or your going to do alot of walking but its so worth going there.
Man what an island. I should move here it's so perfect. So perfect it could be a movie location, like a monster one with the community that's disrupted or something. It may surprise you how big it is, it feels like the country in the middle because you forget your on an island.
Very nice park! Loved the beach and the beautiful views. We even saw a "car" scooting across the lake.
Took a day trip to kellys. If you're looking to feel far from home without going far this is a great option. There's isn't a ton to do on the island, it's a slower pace then put in bay, but we choose it for that reason. The general store is a short walk from the ferry and had the cheapest golf carts.
A nice campground situated on Kelleys Island. Well tended and maintained, this campground offers both electric and primitive sites. Lakeside sites fill up quick, so reservations are a good idea.
Absolutely Beautiful State Park. Hidden gem.
Clean and safe. Awesome shopping dining and wineries on thr island. Great family trip.
Awesome weekend!
