Doctor Simo and staff alike are phenomenal. I was so frustrated from my experience with a previous provider/facility that I was apprehensive about trying a new physician. She explained my surgery clearly, answered many questions that I had. I left there feeling as if I was with a family member. Her entire team truly do care. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

It has been 7 years since Dr. Simo and staff greeted me, comforted me and surgically corrected the illness that wanted to kill me. From her drawing a diagram of what would be surgically done, to waking up at 4: 00 in the morning to see her at my ICU bedside, I felt secure in her knowledge and skills. Both Nicki and Lauren became trusted sources of information. A physician friend recommended Dr. Simo to me and was delighted with my care as was my family.

I had exceptional pre op and post op care from Dr. Simo and her ENTIRE staff. I highly recommend Dr. Simo! This review applies to Toledo Hospital, as well. Great teams of physicians and professionals!

Horrible experience for my dad. Gall bladder surgery gone bad, had to have 2 drainage bags put into place. Horrible experience with the nursing staff. Surgery was on May 14. Transferred to a nursing home for rehab on June 7th (with the drainage bags still in place, along with the staples from the surgery 3 weeks prior). Drainage bags we knew would stay in place. When he got to the nursing home, we found out he had bed sores on his bottom as the staff never repositioned him. The nursing home called Dr. Simo on June 10th to let her know the there was drainage coming out of the incision where the JP tube was. Was told he could wait to be seen at his F/u appt on 6/15. The nursing home then called to let the Dr.know the drainage fluid was now red coming out on Friday. Again, Dr. Simo said he could wait. Monday, June 14, the nursing home call Again! Later that day, had to take him to the ER where he was diagnosed with SEPSIS! He died 3 days later. With all those complications and phone calls, what kind of doctor tells someone it’s okay to wait?

Ruined our lives. Gall bladder surgery gone wrong. After 60 days in ICU went to Cleveland Clinic. Not so much because of Dr. Simo team effort, more so lack of Toledo hospital ICU and wound care skills. Just a terrible experience we still fight every day.
