Kidron Town & Country Store reviews
13This is for the restaurant it’s great, but there is a couple of problems first there’s dead insects on the walls. The waiters ignored us when we wanted a refill. The vault stand out so bad. And took a hour and a half to make chopped up potatoes, but they work very hard so I am going to give him four stars
Went there for beef stew meat, we were there for weekend getaway, went to our Airbnb and made our stew in the crock pot, was delicious
Whoa. This place needs cleaned. BADLY. It also needs a ventilation system. You will leave smelling of old grease. The photo I shared is of a vent that blows directly over diners and yes, that is a strip of greasy dust and debris waving in the breeze. I gave it 2 stars because our server was sweet and delightful. One of our party ordered a salad that was served in a high walled bowl that made it very difficult to eat. It was also mostly croutons and the chicken looked weird and dried out. Also, not a fan of being dive bombed by flies throughout my meal. If you like eating in a dirty, smelly basement, this is for you but enjoy at your own risk.
I give it 4 stars because I love the store. I’ve lived in Kidron for the past three years and everyone there is so friendly and the prices aren’t bad. Love the fresh local meat. Would highly recommend shopping there!
Now I would give it 5 stars but honestly since the restaurant has new ownership it has been very disappointing. Kidron restaurant was absolute favorite. The food was delicious, prices were affordable, the staff was friendly and inviting. Now the staff is still the same but the food is not the same at all, higher prices for less, the food isn’t the same quality as it was before. I’ve tried their new coffee drinks on two separate occasions, first I tried a caramel frappe and it was like drinking just straight caramel. Second time I ordered a pumpkin pie flavored iced coffee, first sip was so bitter so I tried stirring and the pumpkin flavoring didn’t even taste like pumpkin it tasted like pure chemicals and honestly made me sick. Stomach pains and nausea from it. All in all, I will not be coming back to the restaurant. It saddens me that it was once a great place to eat with your family and now I want nothing to do with it. They need to do a little less on improving the aesthetics and work on what they are serving.
Just a grocery store nothing special about it. I did not visit the restaurant below the store.
Local grocery store with a restaurant in the basement. Had the hamloaf dinner downstairs and bought 5lbs to take home up at the deli counter! Best hamloaf I've found!
Killer restaurant in the basement, if you walk out hungry go back in and eat more. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Went yesterday for the famous chicken but found out it is only served on maybe Tuesday and Thursday? I got the special which was some kind of Greek chicken in a white gravy with mushrooms. The chicken was burned & very dry. The noodles were great though! My friend and I were both disappointed. We barely ate anything. I am originally from this area but live out of state now. Had looked forward to eating here since I saw it online last year. Won't be going back.
Good selection of produce and canned goods. Hard to find some products, but good for a quick grocery run, or to pick up lunch.
Fresh meat, salads everything that you can imagine. The staff is friendly and helpful! ENJOY
It's like a time machine to come here. I mean that in a very good way. The restaurant in the basement has good, reasonably priced food and the store upstairs is excellent. Combine this and a trip to Lehman's and you'll be happy.
We stopped in for breakfast on Saturday and were thoroughly disappointed. It was a 'buffet' with limited things and the foods that was there, simply put, were horrible. The bacon and sausage were cooked in the deep fryer and both cooked to death. I thought I would bust my teeth chewing the over cooked sausage. It seemed like the only measure is profit at this point - like see how fast they could produce the food without care and pay as few employees as possible to slop it into the buffet. The second star is for previous breakfasts, really good. Not sure if we will ever be back.
