The Kirtland Temple was wonderful
The tour was done well, leaving you pondering how these people build this beautiful Temple and how they lived in those days
God bless the early Saints that devoted their lives to worshiping the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the Book of Mormon

Worth checking out. Interesting. A little more expensive than anticipated based on the website.

Wonderful historical experience reflecting on the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. So cool to see where the prophet Joseph Smith received inspiration for his followers. To see the remains of a curtain or veil system used to create partitions in the worship area.

The director gave a tour and he answered many questions, dispelled myths, shared stories and gave us great information. Our group was really small so we got to visit the 3rd floor.

I wanted to just look around, but instead they made you watch a long video and take the whole tour.

Emotionally & spiritually moving experience. Start in the visitor center & be prepared to see such awe inspiring beauty when the movie ends, the curtain opens and the tour begins. Temple architecture is on another level of beauty, design, & function. It's one that mixes different styles like Federal, Greek Revival, & Gothic Revival architecture. Kirkland Temple was the 1st LDS temple which means it's is extra special. Visiting Kirkland is on another level & should be on your list of places to experience. Don't forget to travel down the hill to join the guided tour of the sawmill, homes, and general store that is part of this historical area. 45 mins away is Johnson Farm too. Bring a picnic basket and enjoy lunch here.

History come to life. Whatever your personal thoughts may be of the Latter-day Saint movement (s) or Joseph Smith, visiting the Kirtland Temple inspires a greater appreciation for the charismatic religious leader and the ingenuity of his dedicated followers. The well tended grounds provide an atmosphere of reflection and the interior of the temple transports visitors to 19th century religious America. My tour guide was knowledgable and answered all questions from the group, though I do wish greater emphasis was given to the architectural history of the building. Well worth the visit and small $10 charge for children over a certain age and adults. I intended to revisit many times in the future.

Such an Amazing piece of history, and perseverance, of a persecuted people, of very meager means pulling what little they had to build a magnificent temple! Stands as a witness, to the glory of the Lord.

Literally a Community of Christ ad, but The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is fantastic.

Amazing building from nearly 200 years ago. Beautiful grounds to walk through or free tours during the day.

If you want to enter the Temple and you're not a member it's very easy just go see a missionary as far as entering this sacred building, it's now a place of business so you can enter during business hours, this isn't owned by the LDS church like other Temples. It's beautiful to see how it was built, it used to be a functional Temple!

Great place to visit based on history. Sadly it's starting to show it's age and the inability of the current owner to put the money into the upkeep it really deserves.

The most amazing spirit I have ever felt, and most amazing place I have ever been! I was there with a large group, and our meeting had a good portion of us in tears from the sheer power of it all! It is truly so amazing to been in a building where Christ himself has literally stood, and to see the workings of a modern prophet. Everyone should take the opportunity to go there eventually, and feel the power of standing where Christ did.

Beautiful piece of history. One of my ancestors Artimus Millett was the superintendant called on by Brigham Young and Joseph Smith to oversee the building of the Kirtland Temple! He recieved personal revelation on the mixture of the original exterior stuco that lasted a very long time but has since been replaced. He was a great and successful builder from Canada that was taught and converted with the intent to help build the Temple.

We did not actually enter the building. It was closed because of COVID (sad). This house of worship was built in the 1830's and was an impressive feat of engineering for the people that lived in the area at the time. Many of the people involved later moved to Illinois and built a larger temple on the Mississippi River in the 1840's.

Able to feel the History of the times when the church was centered here and for the people who worshipped in this Temple.
Very warm spiritual feeling.

This place is special in its own right and so very wil preserved. The building and visitors center were immaculately taken care of and we only got to see a little bit inside because of Covid. It's a beautiful place to visit.

The history of this building is so impressive that it was a bit disappointing to see it closed to tours (covid) and showing some signs of disrepair. The ground are maintained but the building needs some tlc.
