Eric Laubacher is an excellent lawyer who knows the law well. He and his paralegal staff (specifically Mary Gael Britton) did an exceptional job with my amended divorce case. Eric (and Mary) took the time to hear all of my concerns and clearly, concisely outlined all the different courses of action including the positives and negatives with each choice. Furthermore, Eric and his staff always responded to me in a timely manner. I could not have asked for better representation, and working with Eric and Mary was incredibly easy, and the least stressful part of a very difficult, painful event in my life. Without hesitation, I give Eric Laubacher my highest recommendation.

I retained Eric Laubacher for a custody case. He is incredibly knowledgeable and insightful. He didn't waste my time. In fact, he saved me alot of it and although he advised me strongly in numerous ways, he allowed me to make my own decisions. He and his staff kept me updated consistently and I felt like I could trust them all. Thanks Eric. I'm glad that I chose your firm. You saved me time and money. This is an honest attorney. Hard to find.

Keep searching for the right lawyer for your jurisdiction. You'll know when you have the right one. If it doesn't feel right, keep searching. In Cuyahoga County, it's Eric Laubacher and Co. It's going to cost money either way. So much better to spend the money on a lawyer who will get you your rights. There's no way I would have gotten through this without Eric and his team.

I was unmarried so this went to Cuyahoga Juvenile Court instead of Domestic Relations, which made things much more complicated. That along with Covid, false accusations, mental health issues, and her leaving the state of Ohio: I never could have navigated this without Eric, he was my second and final lawyer. Opposing side went through 5 lawyers and most of them quit.

I began with no parental rights in the state of Ohio as an unmarried father, despite having an affidavit of paternity, despite her having been convicted of Child Endangerment, and despite supporting this woman, her son, our daughter, and my son for 3 years in Cuyahoga County. The Results:

We settled the day the final hearing was supposed to begin: a shared parenting plan, not perfect, but which avoided the costly trial and hit the major points (Eric could have easily charged me to go to trial as he was fully prepared for it, but didn't) : I have primary custody in Ohio: school residency, final medical/dental decision making, no child support. I discuss all matters with her before making final decisions. She gets visitation, supervised by her parents, two weekends per month, one out of state and one in OH; half of the summer/winter breaks. She is responsible for all travel costs. In Ohio/Cuyahoga County for a single father, this is close to a miracle.

Things I learned:

Documentation. Evidence gathering became my second career. It's absolutely maddening; like reliving the nightmare, but the truth came out in a clear manner as a result. They didn't use my texts and emails in court, but they were reviewed by the GALs and psychiatrists who were able to get a firm picture of what was going on. I created timelines, noted important event dates, I must have had 50 spreadsheets going. I got lost in my own mountain of evidence, but it all helped to paint the big picture.

It was this big picture which finally got me my daughter. It was Laubacher and Co who took these details and worked them into an undeniable legal narrative. This narrative navigated through 2 Judges, 2 Guardians, the court's diagnostic clinic, an expert psychiatrist, 5 police departments, 2 child services in 2 states over a year and a half. Eric took time to address every concern I had and help me through this utterly senseless process. He is a special talent whom I now call a friend. He has my full endorsement.
