Lifetime Pet Wellness Center, Columbus OH

We have brought our dog here for past 4 years for vet, boarding and grooming and always had a positive experience until they changed their billing practices. I understand everything has gone up but to bill for 2 days when they had her less than 24 hours is insane to me! I dropped her Saturday late afternoon and picked up on Sunday and it cost almost $90. Before they would have charged for 1 day which would be 1/2 that. Same with pickup during the week, no matter what time you get there they charge you for the entire day now. Before if you would arrive when they open you wouldn’t be charged. When I questioned it the lady working the desk blamed their customer and said she could have manager call me but I never received a call or any type of credit. Needless to say we’ll be looking for a new place to board.

So grateful to have Dr Carlson and his competent, caring staff taking care of our Senior dog.

Erin is the only one who can cut our anxious dog’s nails. She is so patient and understanding and everyone on the staff does their best to make Murphy comfortable. He’s gotten much better with his anxiety around nail trims and we are always grateful to Erin and team!

Our dog has had a chronic illness and we brought him to lifetime for a second opinion. They were prompt, proactive and compassionate. We discussed many options for his care and helped us make a good plan.

Boarding experiences have been horrible, they are incredibly unclear about how much you will be charged. Two examples:

Drop dog off at 4PM Saturday. Pick them up 3PM Sunday. Get charged for 1.5 days despite it being 23 hours. Their explanation is their system does it automatically and cannot be changed, overnight is 1 day automatically and since pickup was 3PM it was another half day. Except they don't open until 3pm. This can be acceptable but was not explained despite asking on the phone call reservation and at drop off.

Drop dog off at 7am Thursday. Pickup Friday at 8am. Charged 2 days for this! I ask for an explanation for how 25 hours equals 2 days and am told its just our system we can't change it. When I don't accept that answer they can suddenly change the unchangeable system to only 1.5 days. Which is insanity to me, I ask why the half day and am told because they fed my dog which they better not have, I only gave food for 1 day. He also has fleas a week later after being previously groomed, bathed and flea prevention applied two weeks prior. Both myself and the desk inspected him for fleas with a comb before boarding.

Scammers, plain and simple. Unclear with pricing, unable to adjust it until they suddenly can and they must go by some new calendar where 25 hours = 2days. There are too many other options for vets, I suggest you look elsewhere!

Found their website on a ferret site and inquired about an appointment. Was told they only see cats and dogs, which is fine, but my 2 star review is because when I asked for an exotic vet recommendation I was simply told “I don’t know” and hung up on. Glad this wasn’t a life threatening issue. Decent customer service could have resulted in us still seeing them for our 3 cats. Tisk tisk…

I boarded my puppy for 4 days and I am sure he was not fed as needed. He wasn’t given a bath as told, we also found a bug on him when we picked him up. When I called the facility they stated that they were getting new people trained but that doesn’t give them any right to mistreat any puppy. WOULDN’T even recommend that one star.

Unfortunately we have a high maintenance pug and cat, so we have to visit the vet more than we’d like. The staff here are all very nice and provide excellent care though.

Our dog actually enjoys going to the vet. She has to take several medications, but we can board her there when needed and know she is in good safe hands to meet all her needs. Their later weekday and Saturday hours make it convenient to get appointments outside of normal work hours, and if needed, you can call first thing in the morning to get same day appointments if something more urgent happens.

They ask about our other pets when we are there for any of them, and call to get updates if they are having problems, so I feel like they really care about them. I highly recommend this office and the vets there.

This place will cold call and harass you about your pets shots to get you in.i’ve been coming here since my dog was a pup, about five years and i haven’t felt like they were money hungry until recently.disappointed to change veterinarians since they are so close but i’m not comfortable here any longer.

I have visited half the vet hospitals in Columbus before finding Lifetime Pet Wellness Center and it’s the best! I love the mix of state of the art treatments like cold laser treatments to improve healing, and the ancient art of acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Both methods have helped my dogs over the years and allowed me to provide them with the best vet care. I know more than the average pet owner having worked in a vet hospital, and the vets here know and respect that and never talk down to me as many other vets have done in the past. This practice was great for my reactive dog, getting us into a room quickly and being able to pay in the room is great- allowing us to avoid other dogs- which stressed her out. The hospital is always calm And running smoothly and is so much less stressful that the hospital we used to go to near home- to be Frank the reception area was like a three ring circus and always set my girl off to a barking frenzy. I love everything about Lifetime Pet Wellness Center and recommend it to all my friends. I just wish it was closer to home. I live in Gahanna- but it’s well worth the drive! 5 stars from me and my crew!

I trust Dr. Carlson and his team with caring for my two dogs completely. My senior dog goes in for regular orthopedic adjustments and acupuncture treatments (which has helped his comfort and mobility considerably) every few weeks, and everyone is always wonderful. They genuinely care about their patients and are always willing to answer any questions I have. I chose Lifetime for their treatment variety and location - but even after I moved almost 20 miles away, I have continued to bring my babies there because I know they're getting the best care possible.

Was told to find a new vet after I stopped working there. I had 2 losses in my immediate family and stopped working for them. Then I couldn’t take my animals there? Never had an issue with them until now. Always was kind to them and paid my bill. It’s just bad business practice.

So professional and amazing staff. They made the hardest decision of my life so much easier. Their care and treatment of my little girl at the end was amazing. They made her comfortable and the passing easier. Great people who love all animals.

I have been taking my dogs and cats to Lifetime for many years now, for medical care, boarding, and grooming. It is clear that the doctors and vet techs genuinely care about my pets. I have a dog with multiple special needs, both physical and emotional, and the care we have gotten at Lifetime has made all the difference in my ability to care for him and in his quality of life. We have seen Drs. Compton, Laughman, and Speer, and they have all been great. Also, Erin in grooming is insanely patient with him. The front desk staff has always been lovely to us too.

The turnover at this office is alarmingly high. Every time I'm in it's a completely new set of employees who seem clueless on a number of things, as if this is their first day. From my discussions with a former employee, they do not treat their staff in a way that aligns with the treatment I'd like to see from someone responsible for my animals. I would not recommend this office if respect and care are important to you.

I have been to a lot of vets in my lifetime, and this place has been my favorite by far.
We have 3 cats and have been taking them here for a few years now. I think we've seen almost every vet there, and they're all so great we don't even have a preferred one. We trust all of them.

They're really patient with me when I'm anxious and asking a million questions. They always take the time to listen and explain things. They are very upfront about how much stuff costs and how necessary or precautionary they think it is. They will also list different things to try and next steps for persistent issues. The receptionists and vet techs are all really kind and go out of their way to help.

I would highly recommend them to anyone! Especially if you're nervous and have a lot of questions or haven't found solutions from other vets.

This is by far the best vet and groomers I have ever been to! For the first time ever, my dog is actually HAPPY about going to see a vet/groomer! They have given the best compassion I have received anywhere in the central columbus area. I am beyond thankful for the vets/groomers! Chrissy, the groomer, had compassion and understanding towards my dogs stress from poor grooming experiences in the past and did her absolute best making my dog feel comfortable. Chrissy helped make my dog look and feel so much better with her amazing grooming skills! If I could give this place a 10 out of 5 stars, I would!

Very appreciative of the staff here, we have multiple cats and they are wonderful with each one!
