Lithuanian Cultural Gardens reviews
2 The Lithuanian Cultural Garden is located on three levels connected by a pair of grand stairs in the style of Charles Schweinfurth's bridge work in Rockefeller Park.
The center plaza has a backdrop (the front of the upper garden) marked as "Pillars of Gediminas" with a bust of Jonas Basanavičius (1851-1927), "Patriarch of the [Lithuanian] Nation".
On the East Boulevard level, the garden has busts of poet & physician, Vincas Kudirka (1858-1899) who wrote the words and music of the Lithuanian national anthem and Catholic priest and poet, Maironis (1962-1932). There is also a fountain (with a small rainbow in my photograph).
The Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway level has a Lithuanian totem pole
In this Garden you will find tributes to Dr. Jonas Basanavičius, Maironis, and Dr. Vincas Kudirka.
The Fountain of Birutè is located in the center of the East Blvd level.
The Pillars of Gediminas were used as the earliest symbol of Lithuania.
