Little West Tavern, Columbus OH

Had a great experience from delicious food to service! Our server, Mohammed, was amazing and spot on. Loved the atmosphere and vibe. I’ll def be back many times!

I had been craving the type of dining experience where you leave completely satisfied and are excited to share with your friends the details of your night out.

Little West Tavern more than scratched that itch.

We had the opportunity to sit front row to the live fire cooking portion of the restaurant. (On some of the comfiest bar chairs I've ever encountered.) It was captivating to watch the different techniques of turning hickory wood into fuel and flavor.

From drinks, appetizers, mains, to desserts, every item we ordered was thoughtfully curated. Each ingredient had its place.

Been a few times, always slow service, ordered the Caesar Salad and it was the worse Caesar Salad I've probably ever had. Which was disappointing after waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes for a table and then another hour for the food to arrive even after ordering as soon as we sat down.

Overall just not the experience I was wanting for an establishment that markets itself as a more upscale dining and food experience, especially for the price.

Loaded Garlic Fries were good though.

Had a wonderful experience at Little west tavern, thanks to the Whole staff and to the Host Michael. He was very polite and friendly, He also had a clear passion for his job, and he knew a lot about the history and features of the hotel. He gave me some interesting facts and stories, and he also recommended some of the best dishes and drinks on the menu. Our Server Paulina was attentive and helpful throughout my visit, and she made sure I had everything I needed. The Bandanas definitely added to the charm and quality of Little west tavern. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy and satisfying dining experience, and I hope to see Michael and Paulina again soon.

Excellent vibe! I’ve lived in Columbus my whole life and it makes me feel like I’m out of town. Service was the best. Great recommendations, speedy, and super fun!

We just had the absolute best night at Little West Tavern! Their incredibly attentive and friendly staff was so fun to converse with and we especially appreciated Danny’s menu recommendations! If I could give 6 stars, I would! ️️️️️️

Little West Tavern is a cozy restaurant with wood-hearth oven dishes. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. Michael, the Host, was very helpful and courteous. He made me feel welcome and comfortable. I loved the food and the service. It is one of the best restaurants in Columbus.

I had walked by this restaurant several times, and I decided to give it a try one evening. The service was phenomenal. I actually got to see the chef be video recorded making a hamburger for a promotional video. So it was a great experience.

But I had the cheeseburger and fries. Also I tried the biscuits. The burger I should have had cooked a little longer and the biscuits were just okay.

If you are ever in the area, stop by and give them a try!

I had a great time at Little West Tavern, thanks to the wonderful service of Michael, our host. He was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu and the history of the place. He greeted us warmly and showed us to our table, which had a nice view of the wood-hearth oven. He explained the concept of the restaurant and recommended some dishes that we might enjoy. He also told us about the other dining options at The Junto, such as the rooftop bar Brass Eye and the cow-themed coffee shop Maudine’s1.

We ordered the cheddar scallion drop biscuits, the wood-fired chicken wings, and the tavern burger with fries. He also refilled our drinks and offered us some sauces for our wings and fries. The food was delicious and satisfying, especially the biscuits, which were warm and fluffy. The wings had a nice smoky flavor and the burger was juicy and cooked to perfection.

Michael also made our dining experience more enjoyable by chatting with us about the neighborhood and the hotel. He told us that Little West Tavern was inspired by the independent spirit of the West and that it featured both indoor and outdoor dining. He also shared some interesting stories about Maudine, the cow who was Ohio State’s homecoming queen in 1926, and how she inspired the coffee shop’s name and decor. He also gave us some tips on where to go and what to do in Columbus.

We ended our meal with a slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream, which Michael said was made with local apples and homemade crust. It was a perfect way to end our night. Michael thanked us for coming, He also invited us to check out the rooftop bar Brass Eye, where he said they had a Rooftop Area and a great selection of drinks.

We left Little West Tavern feeling full and happy, impressed by the food, the ambiance, and most of all, by Michael’s service. He was one of the best Hosts we ever had at a restaurant. He made us feel welcome, comfortable, and entertained. He was professional, courteous, and personable. He went above and beyond to make our night memorable. We would definitely come back to Little West Tavern and recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to eat in Columbus. And we would definitely Ask for Michael as our Tour Host again!

Everything was great! I love the layout, you can sit outside, by the bar, or in front of the chef's cooking off a wood fire. Food and drinks were perfect. Will definitely go back.

Despite being very busy Chef Danny took time to make my group feel at home sitting at the hearth. Food was outstanding. The restaurant and hotel is like nothing we've been to before. Everything is thoughtfully decorated. First time in and we left feeling like regulars.

This restaurant is a gem! The service from the beginning was exceptional! Danielle greeted and seated us, while Joel was our amazing server. The chicken sandwich was delicious and the prawns were just as delicious!

Visited this restaurant after an event at CoSi and had no idea what to expect. We were very pleased with our experience! The food was excellent! We had the biscuits, Cesar salad, tortilla soup, ceviche, Brussel sprouts, burger and espresso chocolate torte. Everything was simply fantastic, the drinks were tasty as well (I think it was called a Firing Squad?). Our server, Stewart, was so pleasant and attentive. We sat at the bar top viewing the wood grill and just enjoyed the show, it's amazing how hard those guys work! Danny and Luis at the grill, were so friendly and provided lovely conversation as well, even though they were so busy. The manager, TJ, was so pleasant too. Atmosphere was warm and inviting, everything was spotless and comfortable. My husband is quite picky, considering he was in the service industry for 20 years, and he usually is underwhelmed when we go out. It was wonderful seeing how happy he was after our meal. He eats a lot of burgers and said this was the best one he's had stateside, which is saying a lot! All in all, it was a wonderful dining experience. We will be back! Highly recommended.

Great new place. Very approachable staff and dog friendly patio. Love the open kitchen and smell of the fire. Listening to your steak sizzle. Food was outstanding. Very flavorful and unique without going too far. Everything on the menu has a nice twist but it’s really well executed don’t be afraid if you are a picky eater. Great experience.

The food was absolutely delicious! The restaurant is proud of and cares about where their food comes from. Our server even told us about where the cows came from and what they were fed. She was also very knowledgeable about the menu and would even explain if the drink was on the sweeter side or what it paired with. It's an amazing experience I would recommend!

Bartender was amazing. Met someone that was higher up with the company. She was unbelievably rude. My entire experience was excellent until I offered two people next to my wife and I a glass of champagne and expressed how much I loved Columbus. She proceeded to tell me how much she hated this city. And then proceeded to tell us we were no longer welcome. Saying she was in charge. We were the only people inside the restaurant. Bought full dinner and a bottle of wine. I run and operate multiple restaurants and have never left a bad review in my life. I sympathize with the owners of this place because I can guarantee they wouldn’t treat their customers this way.

New to the Columbus area but this place belongs in Brooklyn. I recommend sitting at the cooks counter for a chat with the chefs while you watch your food cook. The chefs and staff are warm and friendly and food is fresh. I recommend the burger and the salmon.
