Mad River & NKP Railroad Museum reviews
17A nice small town RR museum. Right by active rail lines. Would not recommend buying some of the Chinese made toys in the gift shop, the one my Son wanted was missing parts when we got it home.
This train museum is absolutely a MUST for ANY train enthusiasts or history buffs. They have so much information and amazing displays.
This is an amazing place! I was very surprised and glad I went to check it out. We spent a little over an hour here. I had younger kids that rushed through some parts so I do believe if it was an adults only group you could spend much longer here. Many trains to tour and many interesting artifacts. Admission and gift shop were very affordable.
Would highly recommend very informative if your a train enthusiasts or not you will enjoy the museum and all the memorable
Christmas caboose rides, gift shop and cocoa in the diner. Little tyke's are enjoying it.
Visited for the Santa train. Todd aka Santa is my boss. Took my nephews and they had a fun time.
Everyone was so nice and helpful! The train ride, cookies and hot cocoa, and Santa were all fun things for our family to do. We enjoyed visiting this museum and look forward to going back!
Fantastic place to take kids to learn history "hands on! " Displays were professionally put together and the ability to climb around in so many train cars was a true "memory maker" for our gkids! Would definitely go again and highly recommend!
Kids always have a great time on the Holiday Train each year! Thank you MAD River for doing such a great job and keeping this affordable for families!
My daughter great-granddaughter and granddaughter really enjoyed of writing the caboose and all the people that were involved, highly recommend
Great museum for train memorabilia and lots of train cars to walk through. Fun family place!
Husband and I took our kids to see the trains. They had a blast running around the yard, playing in the engine seats, and seeing the couple interactive electronic display trains. Great place to have an adventure that doesn't take up your whole day and fun for the whole family. Not very expensive!
So very interesting. Train loving kids and adults can get up close and touch beautifully restored train engines and cars with histories. On going work on more.
Very nice place, lots of rail cars and locomotives with awesome displays. Nice friendly knowledgeable staff.
Just another quaint small town with big railroad cars and engines and lots &lots of history! We had so many questions about the history of the rail lines and trains that they actually walked with us to share further education. I’d you like American history; you’ll love this quaint little side stop!
Something for kids and adults and so much to see! Try to go on a day when it's not hot, or you'll be baking in the rail cars. Wonderful museum that needs more funding so it can properly preserve a lot of the items. This is not a museum for those with short attention spans as you need to take time to look if you want to truly appreciate it all. Yes, you can rush through and just glance at the engines and cars- and that in itself is a lot of fun- but when you take time to look at the items that have been preserved and all the ephemera, it really is a wonderful time capsule of an era that is largely gone. Children will love seeing the rail cars and engines up close, and if you can slow them down long enough, you can take in the other parts of the museum as well. Really is a great collection.
