Manakiki Golf Course reviews
14Never played here before and our league had second round of playoffs here. I'm very impressed with the layout and overall condition of the course. The greens were rolling smooth and fast. I can't wait to come back for another round.
Great course really like the layout. Fast greens. Only complaint was the pace of play was a little slow from the group ahead. Will be back again.
Fun public course, but the starters are extremely rude. We got to the tee box 10 minutes early and were rushed to tee off. The starter said we were good to hit even though the group in front of us was 260 out on the fairway. Thankfully we rushed and proceeded to wait at every single tee box with no rangers to keep up the pace of play.
This is a fun track, but prepare to wait and have old guys with nothing better to do yell at you for showing up early to your tee time. There are a lot of fun tracks that have way nicer starters in the area, but if you like slow play or feel like arguing with a geriatric then this is the course for you
Course is nice but staff is terrible. Every time I play here the play is backed up. But the starter and another staff member that greeted us were chastising us for showing up 10 minutes before our tee time. Apparently the motto for this course is “hurry up and wait”.
Booked a 3 some bc friend was coming from out of town and didn't know if he could make it on time, but he was able to make it so we called to tell them we had a 4th but someone booked single with us. The course wouldn't let us bring our 4th so we had to cancel over a single. Terrible never go there again very rude.
It has to be one of the best public golf courses in a very large area. It's always in great shape greens are always nice.
If you have the opportunity to play at Manakiki, do it! My son and I drove up from PIttsburgh for a weekend golf trip, and as our first course in the trip, I’m not sure how the others will compete. The only my bad thing is that they don’t have a driving range, so be prepared to double bogey the first couple of holes. The greens are tough but fair. All in all, we loved it!
Beautiful layout, each hole is unique in its own way. Greens were possibly the toughest I've played. All the employees here were very pleasant and treated you like you were someone special. Great place to play and very affordable.
Great course, good condition, interesting layout. Greens are difficult, especially depending on pin placement, but rolled true.
Outstanding course, I will most certainly be back. The pin placements were challenging today, especially for those who haven't played the course before. The groundskeeping was on point, everything was in great shape. The elevation and direction changes on most holes made for a fun round.
This is one of my favorite public courses. It is a great layout and a beautiful piece of property. The course is very well maintained for a public track.
Although I love the course, I have had some very poor experiences lately, with the most recent one coming this past Sunday, August 28th. We teed off at 11: 50 behind a 52-person group that started teeing off at 9: 00. It was complete chaos. It looked like these people had never even played golf before. They were taking forever - we were on a 6 hour pace of play.
We get to about hole 14 and had enough. The big group of players in front of us had some groups playing in 5-somes! It was taking FOREVER. We even had our golf balls taken a few different times by this big group (watched them pick them up) and when we confronted them they denied it. We called the pro shop to let them know that they had to get a ranger out there to usher things along but no ranger ever came out.
After nearly 5 hours and only playing about 13 holes, we went to the pro shop to let them know how ridiculous it was out there. They basically laughed in our face and said "oh well". We were very surprised at the response. It was as if they basically let this big group take over the course and do whatever they wanted. No concern for actual golfers that had to play behind this joke of an outing. Very surprised that we weren't given a proper rain check. No one should have to sign up for a 6 hour round when playing a great course such as Manakiki.
We were there for a wedding reception. Everything was nice and went smoothly. The food was really good with lots of choices. Although we are from Illinois, I would definitely suggest this place if I lived in the area!
Went for a baby shower. Food was great. Would have been nice directing guests downstairs to the other rooms. Not just the room names which were not on the invite.
The course is beautiful and the clubhouse staff is great, however the guy at the first tee has been extremely disrespectful to us multiple times. Not the first time he's done this and I know a good amount of golfers that say the same thing. He also informed us that he doesn't care about negative reviews, so as nice as this course is, his attitude brings it to a 1 star.
