Marion Tallgrass Trail reviews
8Nice quiet little area for a walk or room. A small playground is available for kids but not much by way of play equipment. The small lake is lovely and surely teaming with wildlife in other seasons. There is also a small airfield for model airplanes also adjacent to the lake.
Nice long trail, used to be a train track, so it was pretty flat and straight. Has a shelter and couple of resting places along the way. Next to water and nice area to walk during fall.
A Marion community gem! Their recent "paleontology at the park" event was truly exceptional! We were impressed by the staff and volunteers, and by the turnout of organizations that came together to provide an educational and fun afternoon for all ages.
Out for a ride, Beautiful here today. Bike riders be aware, the pavement is starting to "rise" in spots from roots growing under pavement. It's slightly hard to see with the "light" conditions. Mostly between the 3 and 5 mile markers. There are a few apple trees along the trail, and that's where chances of spotting a few deer are likely. If you make it out far enough, please feel free to try your skill at building a "Rock" sculpture!
Was an absolute beautiful and peaceful walk. My Baxter loved all the new sights and smells here. We only spent about an hour on the trails due to the heat but definitely excited to explore more in the future.
Thanks so much to the volunteers who keep this rail trail in good shape. It’s a great place to spend time enjoying the outdoors.
Flat paved spacious trail - pretty sure a biker would love this spot. A lot of birds but they mainly hide in trees. I saw deer in one of the farm grassy areas.one playground area too.
Awesome FLAT trail! In actuality, this is THE first trail that I have EVER ridden on (pause) without encountering any of those “Tour de France, ” overly spandex-clad, arrogant type cyclists!
(You “Tour de France” types? That’s how we view you when RACE or perform “TIME-TRIALS, ” on a FAMILY TRAIL where there are children, pets and us LEISURELY cyclists present!)
