Marriott at the University of Dayton

What else can you really say it's the Marriott great rooms great service and a great place to dine or stay overnight

It's a nice Marriott property. Rooms are clean and well decorated. Beds are comfortable and bedding was neat and clean.

Two things stopped me from giving a 5th star.

#1 they have a printed paper at the front desk describing that they are not automatically cleaning rooms during your stay but to just call down and they will turn your room for you. When I called down around 730 am one day the lady at the front desk told me they need to know the day before. If this is the case why wouldn't the paper say this? Easy to fix so fix it.

#2 they have an indoor outdoor pool with a divider wall. For whatever reason there were hundreds of dead bugs floating on the water. I checked to see if the skimmer baskets were full and found that water wasn't even being pulled through any of the four skimmer baskets which means that a pump failed or was not on. The front desk was advised and a maintenance person came down after a few hours and he said there is always bugs in the outdoor pool. I don't think he was understanding that there was an issue with the skimmer basket system.

Overall it was a good stay. Staff was very friendly and the hotel was comfortable. Other than the two issues I'd definitely recommend this property and will stay again on future Dayton trips.

Very nice hotel, staff was friendly, rooms were clean. The restaurant had good food and very nice staff.

Just had the Mother’s Day brunch here. There was A LOT of room for improvement. Like cafeteria style food. Science jelloy eggs, cold bacon, over cooked meats, dried out pastries.

There was a 18% gratuity tip for food you go get yourself. Also the lines were crazy I didn’t even get an omelette because there was never less than 20+ people waiting.

$300 lesson learned.

I will say tho the service was good, everything looked nice and staff was friendly. Just completely missed the mark on the over priced low quality food.

Edit: Based on reply from the manager & seeing how friendly all the staff was I would be willing to try it out again if the food was improved upon.

Very nice hotel. Very clean rooms. Helpful and friendly staff. When we had to call and make a last minute change to add a connected room (a family member who our kids were going to stay with was unable to accommodate them) the reception and management staff rushed to ensure that our family could stay together at the hotel.

70s era hotel but the interior is very modern. Too modern for my tastes. Very spartan minimalist lobby. In the guest rooms, instead of a closet there's an open wardrobe and also no drawers to place your clothes. Lots of chrome though. Again, not my thing.

I did not stay at this hotel, HOWEVER, they are listed as Pet Friendly, but when I called the hotel I was informed they DO NOT ALLOW Pets. So we did not book. It would have been very inconvenient had I not called the hotel first.

Whether you are staying the night or scheduling an event in their meeting space, this is a top rate organization. The facilities were updated recently (and are outstanding) and the staff is professional and courteous!

One of my best hotel experiences in a while. I look forward to coming back. Very spacious feel. Great lighting in the room. Great view. Clean. Very nicely laid-out room. Up to date conveniences. Comfortable bed. Good staff. I'm still going to give this a 5 although the breakfast staff needs to tone it down a notch. Great service but they don't need to be loud and overly bubbly to somebody who just woke up. Common mistake at many hotels but at least at this one they're helpful. Also the person cleaning and smashing down the silverware the whole time I'm eating needs to do that in the back room. Nobody wants to hear that for 15 minutes while they're having breakfast. I came very close to saying something.

I just spent a week at this location during a business conference. Everything about it impressed me. The room was clean and cared for well every day. Hot water was always available no matter when I needed it. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have ever had in a hotel. The draperies actually kept out all light. No matter what staff member I encountered, they always greeted me and asked if I needed assistance. I will surely return here in the future.

Immaculately clean, friendly staff, and great internet. Absolutely will be staying here for future visits to this area.

The people working at this hotel are the most helpful & friendly that I have ever encountered. Always smiling and asking if i needed anything. Quick check in. Pool & fitness center were fantastic. Food excellent. But the ultimate was when I got into my rental car, covered with about 5 inches of snow & one of the staff came by and brushed all the snow off my car. Incredible service! And this gal from southern AZ appreciated it!

From the parking lot I was impressed. The above ground parking lot had lots of space that was close to the entrance. When we walked in the lobby

Went for fathers day brunch. Only had breakfast food. They have no idea what brunch is. We were told the only reservation time they had was 130 and upon arrival they told us the *brunch* buffet ended at 2. That's not enough time for anyone to enjoy themselves. Especially a party of 9.

Very nice hotel, with a good bar. Good views and comfortable spaces. Internet was fast and had Netflix available on the TVs. Would definitely stay there again on a return visit to Dayton.

I had a wonderful stay at the Marriott. The staff was very friendly and could even accommodate a last minute room request. The room was spacious and clean and very comfortable to relax in. The restaurant was superb, one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The location was ideal, located in a very lovely area of Dayton and very close to the museums and restaurants we wanted to experience. Will definitely have this hotel on the top of our if we make it back to Dayton for another visit.

I must say it was a pleasant experience. Food was good and hot, staff was very polite. I would truly visit again.

I met a group of co workers for breakfast Friday morning. The food was excellent and the service was great.

Wonderful hotel the staff were awesome and very helpful. The hotel is very clean and welcoming. Enjoyed our stay and will be returning soon.
