Mekong Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine, Sandusky OH

Never was one for pho before but this place changed my mind about it. Delicious food through and through.

If you're trying to work it out with your cheating fiance, this is the place to go. While she's remembering all the great times the guy she used to bone and her had at this restaurant, you can enjoy some pho.

Enjoyed eating the beef pho and roasted pork and wonton soups.

Reasonable prices for the delicious food.

There were some inconsistencies between take out orders and dining in. My take-out did not have beef brisket while the beef pho I ordered for dine-in included it.

Overall I still recommend the restaurant for the value flavor of the pho.

The staff was friendly and seemed to be happy at work. Lots of smiles.
We ordered the appetizer sampler which was very good.

My friend ordered a spicy chicken dish which was a bit small but great in flavor.
The sauces were excellent!

I would rate this place a solid 4 to 4.5 stars.

Close to Kalahari and Great Wolf Lodge.

Food price reasonable.

Cons:
Food quantity felt just slightly less on one of the dishes ordered then other places I have tried, but the food was good so that’s what counts.

Overall experience was great and I’d definitely recommend the place if you are in the area.

Outstanding food with great beer and music. Excellent vegetarian options: steamed vege dumplings, summer rolls, and tofu with basil hit the spot.

I only had one item - done takeout - so please take that into consideration in reading my review. I had the Calamari salad. - It was good/fair, but I was disappointed in the size of the order, particularly for the price. It seemed like more of a side-salad size, but with an entree salad price. (I read one other review that mentions portions being less generous with takeout, so maybe this holds true.) I am only taking one star off because of my limited experience, but if I had to give a more honest review based on that sole item, it was more like 3 stars based on taste and order size. I will likely go back (since I love Vietnamese food and the options near here are limited) and am hopeful for better portions and flavor with dine-in.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal and atmosphere with our extended family. Mekong had no problems with our large (12) group while taking care of other patrons. Most excellent fresh authentic food. The Quail egg soup was divine.

Holy Moly! Flavor heaven! Absolutely delicious food with a simple ambiance. Staff was incredibly gracious and helped us decide what to eat from the extensive menu. I had the noodle salad with chicken. It has vegetables on bottom, then layered with rice noodles, then chicken and these wonderful fried spring rolls, crushed peanuts and carrots were among some of the garnishes. Top it off with their deliciously light house sauce and its amazing! I couldn't stop eating it! I left feeling fulfilled, but with a feeling that I had made a decently healthy choice for a meal. We also ordered an assorted appetizer and seafood Pho. We're definitely coming back!

I had the tofu and with spicy basil sauce and my kids each had a pho bowl. They didn't eat all their garnishes so I piled them into my dish. Extra bean sprouts, basil and jalapeno. Excellent Vietnamese food.

Great flavors, I really love the "roll your own springrolls platter". I am originally from Richmond, VA, where there is another Mekong owned by the same family. My only complaint about the Sandusky location is that they sometimes skimp on the portion size, especially when you order takeout. The Richmond location is much more consistent.

We loved this place. When I tell you this is hands down the BEST Korean food I have ever had I mean that completely wholeheartedly. Amazing from start to finish. It was spicy when I wanted it to be and savory and sweet. Every bite was fantastic.

I am not very sure it's authentic. I ordered pho and it doesn't come with bean sprouts/basil /lime plate and no sauce on the table. I had asked for sauce.

Broth for pho is a little off, very drying after taste.wonder if they are using msg.it didn't taste like this last year.

Can't begin to describe their menu. All genuine Vietnamese, everything delicious! Wait staff and owner are incredibly helpful and friendly!

We love this place, come here regularly. Food always fresh and fast, consistently good. Staff is friendly and efficient. Love the fried spring rolls and the spicy battered chicken entre with vegetables. LOVE the chicken pho. You must try this place!
