Mel-O-Dee Restaurant & Catering reviews
18I'll give them 3, because we walked in on Saturday 7: 15 pm (they close at 8) and the blonde crinkly haired hostess who needs a bottle of toner to correct the Orange in it, had stank face. And what I mean by that is that my family almost walked out because she didn't say hello, and had a complete attitude with everyone who walked in that door. No hello, how are you, how many, just "how many" and when people would ask her how long the wait is, she's like "could be 20 minutes, could be more, it just depends. We all felt severely unwelcome. But we were starving so we waited. Listen, if you don't want to be there and do a job, please go home and correct your attitude. We got to our table and had Julie as our server, she was sweet as a button and a great waitress. Food was also good. No complaints there. We will be back again, but I hope you know, first impressions mean alot and your hostess with NOT the mostess, needs an attitude check! Especially to your elderly customers. Maybe they didn't notice, but I did. Im in my thirties and I had to keep my mouth shut before I checked her little attitude. Go home:)
Best food around the broasted chicken is to die for and homemade bread is the bomb! And of course the service is great
Food is always delicious. Ordered one of the specials, 2 bbq chicken breasts with heaping coleslaw. Fantastic. Coleslaw is a must when you visit Mel-O-Dee Restaurant. And dont leave without a slice of their delicious homemade pies.
You will be glad you didnt.
Mel-O-Dee staff always truly appreciates our business. Broasted chicken and fish is simply the best around Dayton! An enjoyably quaint and comfortable diner experience.
Food was great, service was spectacular. Great experience. Can be busy due to such a great experience.
Diamond in the rough for homestyle diner fare.
I highly recommend the boasted chicken and potatos
Great home cooking from a three generation family operated restsurant. The service is equally as great. Come hungry because the helpings are generous.
Slaw and broasted chicken was awesome! Jennifer took excellent care of us. Next time I'll come for pie!
Good service but the food was nothing special. We ordered their famous chicken and several of my wings were overcooked. Their food is bland and not worth it. Overall their homemade bread was the best thing we ate, will not return.
The Broasted chicken was good but not spectacular, everything else was poor at best including the service. Everything seemed like low quality canned food and the servers had attitude. This place was highly recommended but I wish I had kept driving. Now I know, one and done.
Very good home style cooked meals. Great variety on the menu reasonably priced. Family friendly atmosphere. Popular place, so might have a wait during lunch and dinner times, but worth it.
The prices are reasonable, the people friendly, and the place clean. The toast was too greasy due to grilling. The apple side was a nice alternative but heavily sweetened.
50/50 here. I've had food so disappointing I couldn't eat it but also had food that tantalized my taste buds. Portions are large (we often share the meal) and a very diverse menu. The broasted chicken alone makes it worth the drive.
Mel-O-Dee is one of those places you come back to year after year. You just add another person to tour group each year. The food is always so good (chicken, burger, soup, salad, pie-all of it). The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. Go in and go often
Born and Bred in Park layne moved to Miami Fl.ex melodee employee around 28 years ago and always a must stop when we xisit for the chicken and coleslaw.

First time being there tonight and will definitely be going back again. Excellent food and service ️
I used to work at this place way back when I don't really like it too much when I work there except the m e l-O- Burger I think it's freaking delicious. But I have to go on back after not working there for some time I see I enjoy the restaurant from the patrons point of view and it is much much better. They make their own bread it's delicious
