Melt Bar and Grilled, Independence OH

Vegan grill cheese was awful. Had weird after taste. Fries were yummy. Service was super slow and bad. Mixed up my order and it was cold when I finally received it.

The restaurant is great. Good people and great food. Three stars for the prices though. This is my first time coming here and I thought it was a little much for me. I still suggest people try it out.

The best. Hugh portions.definite doggie bag. Vegan and vegetarian options. Something for everyone!

I usually love this place. Coming from out of state, we try to stop by when going through OH. Today, my husband and I both got different menus. I told the waitress but she didn't seem bothered, though there was stuff in mine that was not in his and vice versa.

I told her I was torn between two sandwiches and then saw that they had beyond meat chicken tenders! Vegetarian score! So I ordered a sandwich that would go well with the veggie tenders. When it came, it had cold vegan chicken on it. I told the waitress it wasn't right because it was supposed to have the vegetarian tenders. She said "oh we might not have those yet, which is why they probably did that.

What?

This is the 4th time I mentioned them and they waited until my sandwich came out AND I said something to address it? Whatever. At this point I was so disappointed and we had been here so long I just kept it. Fast forward to the bill. They charged me for vegan cheese (never asked for that and it explains a lot about the sandwich). I asked her to take that off since that was not at all what I ordered.

So sad and disappointed.

Terrible service, not only was our hostess rude apon arrival but once we were seated our waiter "NICK" was rude and totally unprofessional, we explained this was our first time and that we may need a few more min to look over the menu and he proceeded to roll his eyes and walk away after we placed our order we waited another almost 45 minutes and our appetizers salads and entrees all arrived at the same time our grilled cheese arrived to the table cold.not just luke warm but actully cold in my opinion food was WAYYYY over priced for the quality of food I was served $12 for 2 slices of bread with a handful of shredded cheese on it is what i was served as a "GRILLEDCHEESE" our order of 4 mozzarella sticks almost $14 were way over cooked, soggy and tasted like late-night bar food

Not a good experience. The garlic tomato soup was loaded with green onions. Menu did not mention onions. The Monte Cristo bread was so hard and crusty, I could not bite through it. I ended up removing the meat and not touchin the bread. The fries were not fresh. The pickle was perfect. I will not return.

This place has coasted on it's Man v Food spot for ages. Long waits, Heavily tatted, apathetic wait staff, Huge sandwiches that are 99.9% bread. In short, an absurdly overrated rip off. If you want a good, home made toasted cheese in town, make tracks to Tom & Cheese in Broadview Heights instead.

So-so with decent, but greasy food. Poor and slow service, have been here a few times. Recently had a party of three. I was first to arrive and they wouldnt seat me until another person arrived, even though they were almost empty.

Hands down the best spot for sandwiches! Come hungry and try the Cuban war pig with fried pickles on top! The big fat gyro is on point as well! Not a fan of the cole slaw (quite dry) and bland

Great atmosphere.
Great food.

BUT they cannot seem to get a special request right and then when you alert of an error on a special request they do no do anything but over to give you that missing add-on. Come on Melt, own your mistake and give out an appetizer or something.

My advice: admit, apologize and go beyond the mishap.

I've been to Melt a handful of times since 2009ish and each time, I've tried a different type of grilled cheese. Absolutely enormous sandwiches, with plenty of opportunities to eat that snack you've always wanted to create yourself but never had the guts to. You could come here and eat health conscious, but why? They now offer Mac-n-cheeses you could only dream about. So good.

The food was great, staff not as much. I placed a phone order and was told 35 minutes, I arrive 30 minutes later to find out the hostess hadn't even put my order in to the system.

Love the concept of gourmet toasted cheese sandwiches! And their imagination for them is superior! I haven't had a disappointing one yet. Service is always good as well. Thank you Matt Fish for a great restaurant!

We went here as a large party.service was extremely slow (almost 2 hours for food). This place has been reviewed on two television shows. You would think they would be prepared for a large party on a Friday night.

Awesome as always. As long as you're a fan of the cheese you're a fan of the melt. Great staff and always helpful on large pick up orders!

The wait is always worth it at Melt. The food is always fantastic, the staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is great!

Delicious.my husband ordered the fried mac and cheese one & i had the meatloaf one.both we delicious and filling. Great experience. There is also an arcade to play at while you wait for your food.

Two years ago I would have given this location 5-stars. Today service is variable. You can typically expect an unnecessary wait to be seated and the kitchen is generally on their own pace. The sandwiches are great and the selection of taps at the bar is significant. Just be advised that a meal will take upwards of an hour and a half.

My grandma enjoyed the Kindergarten Melt (cheddar cheese grilled sandwhich) and I had the vegan chili and French onion soup. Everything was delicious. What's more is that this establishment is environmentally conscious and only gives plastic straws upon request. I personally respect appreciate that. Good atmosphere. Friendly speedy service. I have no complaints. Thanks for a great experience. We will be back.:)
