Memorial Parkway Trailhead reviews
11Awesome trail head. Little over 3 miles to Merriman Rd.in the valley and Little over 1 mile to downtown Akron.
Know why they call it "memorial"? Because a sink hole opened up a mother and her kid fell into it w their car first responders got her n the kid out but they perished into the sinkhole! Verdad!
Well I know people won’t like this but I ride my mini bikes with the wife at night I know we aren’t really supposed to but we are cautious and courteous of anyone on the trail I love just cruising and letting all my stress go I recently lost my son and this is one of the only things that keeps me sane! Beautiful place
A place with a lot of memories. I rode that bike trail from that end to Brandywine and back boy I was wore out
Love this entrance to the Towpath. If you go left (facing the trail from the parking lot), there is a really nice place to sit and listen to/watch the river that is a little over a mile from the trailhead.
One of many stops off the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath. Plenty of parking spaces. Restroom on site very clean
This is a great new parking lot on the bike trail. We usually drive up to Peninsula, but this is closer to home for an after work, quick ride. Will definitely park here again.
If you live in Akron and you don't use the Towpath Trail you are missing one of the best parts of living here
Great trail to the north and south.unpleasant sewer gas hits you in certain spots, which is the reason for the missing 5th star. Other than that, I enjoyed the historical points of interest and the wooded trails that connect to this one. Great new parking area with clean restrooms.
It's just beautiful, you can hike their bike there and there's also a park for dogs you can walk, jog or sit with your dogs in or out of the fenced in area.
Nice area to stroll in nature alongside the Cuyahoga River within Akron. As of March 2020 there is still construction in the parking lot, but plenty of parking at BARC. The trail is level packed sand and light gravel; it's good for a hybrid bike or a stroll with the kids and/or dog.
If you're dog lover but not a dog owner it's great! Plenty of dogs to love up and not clean after.
My only complaint is you find a lot of dog poop bags abandoned on or near the trail. I admit there is a lack of conveniently located waste receptacles; however I wish all dog walkers were as responsible as the majority of dog walkers are.
