Mercy Medical Center Hospice reviews
2 It has been brought to my attention that a negative review was posted three weeks ago concerning the care taken of my husband by Mercy Hospice. Rachel was his main nurse and if anything she considered his needs above all else. My husband was given a drug (Ativan) along with others with my permission and his knowledge prescribed by the hospice doctor.
This is my first experience with hospice. Mercy Hospice was recommended to me by two different agencies. Mercy Hospice deals with patients on a daily basis and they are highly trained on what should or should not be prescribed and actions that should be taken medically. I put my faith in them. My husband's symptoms got worse because he had been off dialysis fourteen plus days, he was not in pain. He was dying.
Having a loved one die at home is very hard to see and deal with but it was not violent. Having family members at odds concerning treatment doesn't make it easier. Rachel and the other nurses and staff entrusted with the care of my husband did a great job. They took loving care of my husband.
The highlight of my husband's last days was when the chaplain did a pinning ceremony because he was a veteran. He cried.
I am sorry the bias of a family member (whose name is not Mabel) was put out there as representing the family. I would highly recommend Mercy Hospice and its staff and I hope they will be there when I need them.
If I could give Mercy Canton in-home hospice a negative (below 1) rating I would. If you care about your loved one or about how you are handled as a customer, I beg you to look elsewhere. Our primary nurse (Racheal) was hateful at times, acted like a know-it-all nurse kratchet and ultimately insisted on giving the patient a drug that gave him the most violent and uncomfortable death. She had been alerted 4 separate days that this drug was resulting in worsening symptoms instead of improving them, and instead of listening decided a double dose was necessary. Well I will need years of counseling to repair the trauma that then followed with the reactions to it.
Too many errors to list here beyond this most aggregious one.
